Introducing the New 2021 TAG Heuer Formula 1 Chronograph 43

Dressed in the fairly recent yet distinguishing TAG Heuer asphalt textured dial, brushed and polished stainless steel and a black ceramic bezel, the iconic TAG Heuer Formula 1 Chronograph is given a vibrant makeover with two new editions featuring a choice of bright yellow or vivid orange accents.

When it comes to affordable and casual sport watches that still hit the mark with premium materials and technologies, TAG Heuer always clean up. Their Formula 1 collection in particular has secured the Swiss watch manufacturer as one of the world’s leading suppliers of sports watches and ever since its launch in 1992, it has remained a permanent fixture on the wrists of Formula 1 race car drivers. We can imagine the new duo of TAG Heuer Formula 1 Chronograph watches finding themselves just at home here too with an adrenaline-filled aesthetic characterised by a unique textured dial and luminous orange and yellow detailing on the dial and bezel.

The asphalt dial of the new TAG Heuer Formula 1 Chronograph watches was – we believe – first seen on the recently revealed TAG Heuer Carrera Porsche Chronograph Special Edition watch which saw a new partnership between powerhouse Porsche and TAG Heuer. The asphalt-finished dial was designed to evoke the same gritty grey surfaces of racecourses and was similarly adorned with black snailed counters. The concrete-inspired face is now revealed within a duo of Formula 1 watches alongside neon coloured accents for optimal legibility.

The first reference in the pair is CAZ101AG.FC8304 which boasts lime yellow colouring on the large Arabic numerals, indexes and tachymeter lettering on the bezel while reference CAZ101AH.BA0842 delivers florescent orange detailing on the same design elements. The latter is also completed on a classic stainless steel bracelet while the yellow variant is paired with a black nylon textile strap detailed with matching yellow stitching. Other than their slightly different colourways and strap options both TAG Heuer Formula 1 Chronograph watches follow suit in their case design, movement and functionality.

Both variants showcase a 200 metre water resistant 43mm stainless steel case with flat sapphire crystal glass treated with anti-reflective coating and a black PVD screw down crown to pair with the black ceramic bezel. The bezel is handsomely detailed with a white tachymeter scale while the screw down case back is kept closed and engraved with a legendary chequered Formula 1 decoration. The TAG Heuer Formula 1 Chronograph watches are also treated to study Superluminova coated hands and applied hour markers.

Housed within each reference is a Swiss made quartz movement, the calibre currently unknown to us, but promising central hands for hours, minutes and chronograph seconds and a date window between 4 and 5 o’clock. On the three black snailed counters, you have the small seconds at 3 o’clock, a 30 minutes counter at 9 o’clock and a 12 hours counter at 6 o’clock.

The orange TAG Heuer Formula 1 Chronograph on the steel bracelet will retail at £1,650 and the yellow variant on a nylon strap comes in a little cheaper at £1,550. You can order both models on the Jura Watches website today now available with interest free finance and free delivery.
