Oris Chronoris Williams 40th Anniversary Watch Review

Released to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Williams Racing and their 14 years of partnership, Oris have released a stunning new chronograph under the name of Oris Chronoris Williams 40th Anniversary watch. The new limited edition boasts a stunning combination of Formula 1 colours and retro 70’s style attributes, making it a completely unmissable and desirable timepiece.

The 40mm cushion shaped case is already familiar to the Chronoris range, one that has become incredibly popular with those with smaller than average wrists. The sleek case shape moulds effortlessly to the wrist while the wide polished bezel and slender polished sides gives the impression of a larger-looking watch. Turn the watch over and you are greeted to a pleasing special edition engraving including a large ‘W’ in the centre to commemorate the Williams Racing team.

Hidden within the case of the Oris Chronoris Williams 40th Anniversary watch is the Oris 673 automatic movement based on the ETA 7750. This movement is a popular one with Oris chronographs but it’s easy to see why. It equips the timepiece with centre hands for hours, minutes and chronograph 1/4 seconds, 2 subsidiary dials for 30 minutes and a 12 hours counter and a date window at 3 o clock. Not only that, but the limited edition piece is also kitted out with an impressive power reserve of 48 hours.

At first the dial of the Oris Chronoris Williams 40th Anniversary watch might look a little busy, but on closer look it’s not only easy to read but offers a stunning motor-inspired aesthetic. A trio of colours are used to help organise each function while the steel hands for hours and minutes are decorated with Superluminova for legibility in the dark. We particularly like touch of colour found on the blue seconds counter for the chronograph and the blue tachymeter scale.

The Oris Chronoris Williams 40th Anniversary watch is currently available on a stainless steel bracelet, black rubber strap and – our personal favourite – a brown perforated leather strap with a striking vintage effect. The timepiece also comes in a special edition box with an additional NATO strap and the required strap changing tools.

With only 1,000 pieces of the Oris Chronoris Williams 40th Anniversary watch being released, it is certainly worth getting your order in quickly. For more information on this watch and where to order your own, click here.
