To be featured in Christopher Nolan’s latest movie masterpiece TENET, two striking new Hamilton Khaki Navy BeLOWZERO Tenet Limited Edition watches have been released based on the custom-made watch showcased in the film. Cased in lightweight titanium, paired with unique packaging and available with a red or blue-tipped seconds hand as a reference to the key colours in the movie, these 888 limited edition pieces have already proven must-haves for watch collectors and film-buffs alike.
Hamilton are no strangers to the red carpet, having already featured many of their iconic models in over 500 productions. Blue Hawaii, Men in Black, The Martian and Predators are just a few of the huge big-screen names featuring Hamilton watches and lest we forget about another Christopher Nolan success Interstellar, a film whose plot centres entirely around the Hamilton watch it features – now widely known in watch circles as “The Murph”. Since TENET isn’t debuting in cinemas until 17th July in the UK, we know little about the film and how the watches will be used in the movie, but Hamilton have hinted that the two Hamilton Khaki Navy BeLOWZERO Tenet watches provide clues to its narrative.
In particular, the choice of either a blue or red coloured seconds hand is considered to point to an important aspect of both lead characters, played by Robert Pattinson and John David Washington – but for what that is exactly, we will have to wait to watch the film to find out! The lack of a date window is also believed to hint to the way the aspect of time and time travel is used in the movie. Its elimination brings a wonderful balance to the design and brings further attention to the unique coloured seconds tipped hand. The word tenet being a palindrome also hints to a complex plot and relates to the choice of 888 pieces being released.

The original custom-made watch used in the film, which inspired the two new Hamilton Khaki Navy BeLOWZERO Tenet Limited Edition watches, took over 18 months of preparation to create which included technical development, testing and production at the Swatch Group’s lab in Switzerland. In the end, dozens of the final prop watch were created for the movie. To celebrate one of Hamilton’s biggest film collaborations to date, the inspired-by limited edition duo brings to life an incredibly similar aesthetic to the original with a gorgeous all-black lightweight titanium case measuring to 46mm in diameter, a 1,000 metre water resistant rating, sapphire crystal glass and the H-10 automatic winding movement boasting a power reserve of 80 hours.
Similarly to the Hamilton “Murph” watch released in collaboration with the Interstellar movie, the Hamilton Khaki Navy BeLOWZERO Tenet Limited Edition watches are presented in unique packaging designed by production designer Nathan Crowley. Having also designed the set for TENET and Interstellar, the design of the packaging could not capture the essence of the movie better. The boxes come in red or blue, depending on which variant of the limited edition you choose, and are distinctively translucent with an unmissable sci-fi aesthetic.
