In November 2007 Breil Milano began its association with the sailing Team Shosholoza, the South-African challenger to the 33rd America’s Cup in 2009. In the spirit of the words of the famous South African song ‘Shosholoza‘ – which means going ahead, together – Breil Milano embraces the soul of the first African team, which is guided by the dedication of its Italian ship-owner, Salvatore Sarno.
Breil Milano is the Team Sponsor, its Official Timekeeper and Official Supplier of Team Shosholoza. The Breil Milano logo is prominently displayed on various parts of the yacht, including the boom, tender, support craft and dry-land facilities used by the team.
Breil Milano will also be providing Team Shosholoza with a range of a new line of watches (above), inspired by the lively colours and graphics that make this South African team stand out.
By buying a Breil Milano for Team Shosholoza watch (before 31 December 2009) you will help to bring a smile to the children of South Africa. Part of the proceeds of the sales of Team Shosholoza watches will be given to the Izivunguvungu Foundation Charity, a sailing centre for deprived children in Simon’s Town, near Cape Town in South Africa. Izivunguvungu means: strong and lightning quick wind, in the local Isizulu language.
