To celebrate 19 years as the Official Timekeeper of MotoGP, Tissot have launched their latest Tissot T-Race MotoGP 2020 watch collection, a collection of limited edition timepieces that luxury watch collectors and motorsport enthusiasts alike anticipate every year. As expected, each Tissot T-Race MotoGP 2020 watch remains a reflection of the fast world of race car driving with sporty aesthetics to catch the eye and powerful Swiss made movements for ultimate functionality.

Tissot T-Race MotoGP 2020 Quartz Limited Edition Watch (T1154172705101)
For the Tissot T-Race MotoGP Quartz and Automatic Limited Edition watches, inspiration was taken directly from the qualities of the bikes and the riders with chronograph counters mirroring the dashboard, pushers reminiscent of footrest pushers and fitted bezels suggestive of motorcycle tyres. The cases also remain sleek in stainless steel, but this year they have included some red detailing onto the dial. In comparison to last year’s duo, which were created from black and rose gold PVD stainless steel, the new steel and red aesthetic takes the brand back to their roots and provides a much sleeker and sportier look that we are sure every aficionado of MotoGP will love to wear.

The Tissot T-Race MotoGP Quartz 2020 Limited Edition differs from its automatic counterpart through its Swiss made quartz movement, the ETA G10.212 calibre, its dial layout and case size. The 316L stainless steel case with black PVD coating measures to 43mm in diameter and is fitted with scratch resistant sapphire crystal glass with anti-reflective treatment and a closed engraved case back decorated with the MotoGP logo. The smooth black dial features a bold white minutes track, sleek Superluminova indexes and counters at the 10, 2 and 6 o’clock positions for 30-minutes, 1/10 of a second and continuous seconds.

Tissot T-Race MotoGP 2020 Automatic Limited Edition Watch (T1154272705700)
The Tissot T-Race MotoGP Automatic 2020 features a similar aesthetic to its quartz counterpart but with a powerful Swiss made automatic movement housed inside. The C01.211 mechanical chronograph calibre similarly provides central hands for hours, minutes and chronograph seconds and three subsidiary dials for 30 minutes, 6 hours and continuous seconds and a magnified date window at 3 o clock. The counters are displayed in different positions at 12, 6 and 9 and are paired with large Arabic numerals and a sleeker black minutes scale. The automatic winding movement also provides an impressive power reserve of 45 hours.
Coming in slightly larger than the quartz, the Tissot T-Race MotoGP 2020 Automatic Limited Edition measures to 45mm in diameter and remains engineered from 316L stainless steel case with black PVD coating. The case is also fitted with scratch resistant sapphire crystal glass treated with an anti-reflective coating while the engraved exhibition case back greets its wearer to a glimpse of the automatic calibre working hard inside. Matching the quartz, the automatic variation also features a black embossed calfskin leather strap detailed with red stitching, black rubber lining and a classic stainless steel pin buckle.

First up in the racer-specific inspired MotoGP watches is the Tissot T-Race MotoGP Marc Marquez 2020 Limited Edition. Marc Marquez is the watch brand’s newest brand ambassador and last year’s MotoGP world champion. His design is treated to an aggressive aesthetic decorated in black and dark red inspired by different components of his own professional racing motorbikes and his unique mascot: the Ant. The black dial is neatly engraved with the image of an Ant, a symbol that has come to represent Marc Márquez’s smaller than average height yet remarkable control over his bike that weighs also double of him.
The 43mm stainless steel and black PVD coated case embodies the strong and powerful presence of the youngest MotoGP champion of all time with Marc’s official number and logo engraved on the screw down case back. Inspired by Thomas Luthi’s colours, the Tissot T-Race MotoGP 2020 Thomas Luthi Limited Edition brings a stunning blue and black aesthetic to the collection and perfectly tributes the racer’s competitive riding style with a brake disc inspired bezel and chronograph pushers reminiscent of footrests. His Thomas Luthi 12 number is engraved onto the closed back and the black-on-black chronograph counters are unique detailed with lightning strikes, referring again to his iconic logo.
The dial of the Tissot T-Race MotoGP 2020 Thomas Luthi Limited Edition watch has been done beautifully, not only for its subtle racing-inspired accents but for its stealthy black and blue finish and textured centre. It’s large Arabic numerals and central hands are detailed with glow in the dark Superluminova and protected by sapphire crystal glass and a 43mm stainless steel and black PVD coated case. Last but certainly not least is the Tissot T-Race MotoGP Jorge Lorenzo 2020 Limited Edition. Jorge Lorenzo has been an ambassador of Tissot watches since 2016 and their long-term partnership has been commemorated every year since. As expected, a black and red combination tributes Jorge Lorenz’s colours as does the subtle inclusion of his X- Fuera logo on the continuous seconds subsidiary dial at 6 o’ clock.
A Swiss made quartz movement powers the central hands for hours, minutes and chronograph seconds, date window and chronograph counters for 30 minutes and 12 hours which is kept hidden behind the 100 metre water resistant screw down case back engraved with his legendary 99 number. The black spiral detailed dial with Superluminova coated central hands and indexes is protected by scratch resistant sapphire crystal glass and a 43mm stainless steel case with black PVD coating fitted with a black calfskin leather strap with a red insert and red stitch detailing.
