Rado Golden Horse 1957 Automatic Limited Edition Watches (R33930355, R33930153)

A collection that seems to have caused quite a stir since it first appeared online, the new Rado Golden Horse 1957 Limited Edition watches celebrate an older 1957 model from Rado that bought a modern aesthetic alongside a date feature and water resistant case. Limited to 1957 pieces, each Rado Golden Horse watch boasts its own unique design. Our favourite from the collection is the R33930355 model which showcases a breathtaking gradient dial which starts off as red in the centre before falling dark around the edges. We also love the mesh steel bracelets that are available on other models.

In keeping with the original Rado 1957 watch, a pair of golden sea horses decorate the dial of each release alongside hour, minute and seconds function and a date window at 3 o clock. The functions are powered by the highly desirable ETA C07.611, also known as the Powermatic 80, which also equips the pieces with impressive power reserves of 80 hours. Each Rado Golden Horse 1957 Automatic Limited Edition watch also comes with box-shaped sapphire crystal glass, stainless steel cases measuring to 37mm in size, rhodium plated indices and hands and a beautifully engraved case backs decorated with three sea horses.

Rado True Thinline Gem Quartz Limited Edition Watch (R27007702)

Rado are known for pushing the boundaries in pioneering design and for 2019, they have done just that once again with this breathtaking Rado True Thinline Gem Quartz Limited Edition watch. Last year, they partnered up with British designer Bethan Gray to bring us the stunning Thinline Studs watch. This year, they have worked with award-winning Spanish designer Inma Bermúdez who wanted to make a watch that made people want to  “look and enjoy the moment”.

Inspired by the reflections created by faceted sapphire crystal, Inma Bermúdez has combined this luxurious material with lightweight white ceramic to create a watch that completely captivates its wearer and anyone nearby. The ceramic and sapphire crystal create unique displays of light every time you move while the dial is given an illusion of depth thanks to its faceted centre and application of 12 diamonds around the edge. Remaining the brand’s thinnest watch to date measuring to only 5mm thick, the Rado True Thinline Gem is the epitome of femininity.

Specifications:

  • Case Size: 39mm
  • Case Material: Ceramic
  • Movement: Quartz
  • Functions: Hour, minutes
  • Glass: Sapphire crystal
  • Limited Edition: 1001 pieces
  • RRP: £1,940

Rado HyperChrome Captain Cook 2019 Limited Edition Watch (R32500315)

Last but certainly not least, the highly anticipated Rado Hyperchrome Captain Cook Limited Edition watch is one that many watch fanatics have been waiting for since the original Rado HyperChrome Captain Cook re-issue from 2017. Ready and available to order now, this stunning model boasts a brand new dial colour in the same format as the original design seen in 1962. The new taupe brown face was inspired by a Captain Cook model found in the brand’s archives that had developed an aged patina on the dial. The finish compliments the rest of the vintage aesthetic perfectly.

The rest of the design follows suit to the 2017 model, and rightfully so, since the Rado HyperChrome Captain Cook Limited Edition re-issue needed no changing at all. It continues to boast a coin edged bezel, polished stainless steel case, large green Superluminova indices and boldly sized hour and minute hands shaped in the distinctive sword and arrow style. The movement has also remained the same with the limited edition of 1962 pieces equipped with the popular Powermatic 80 automatic calibre. One final difference also comes in the form of the strap – or straps – that come with the watch. With every order of the Rado HyperChrome Captain Cook 2019 watch, you also get a leather travel pouch holding a green NATO, brown leather and stainless steel Milanese bracelet.

  • Case Size: 37mm
  • Case Material: Stainless steel

  • Functions: Hour, minutes, seconds, date
