Parmigiani Fleurier Watches & Wonders 2023 Releases

Since the 2021 Watches & Wonders event, we’ve found it hard to believe Parmigiani Fleurier will ever top themselves again. They unveiled a new line of Tonda PF watches in celebration of their 25th anniversary with elegant d’orge guilloche dials, fluted bezels, tear-drop shaped lugs and integrated bracelets. The series started off strong with a huge range of complications to choose from including designs like the Tonda PF Micro-Rotor, the Tonda PF Chronograph, the Tonda PF Annual Calendar and the Tonda PF Split Seconds Chronograph. As if reading our thoughts, the Swiss watch manufacturer has delivered exactly what we wanted for the Parmigiani Fleurier Watches & Wonders 2023 showcase… even more Tonda PF watches and while some are familiar, others are world firsts.

The Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF Minute Rattrapante Watch

For a luxury watch brand that is still very youthful in an industry full of century-old watchmakers, Parmigiani Fleurier has quite effortlessly made their mark in the arena with some world-first complications. The Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF GMT Rattrapante watch from last year’s Watches & Wonders event marked the world’s first GMT Rattrapante complication and now again, the brand delivers another new function with the Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF Minute Rattrapante watch. This innovative Parmigiani Fleurier Watches & Wonders 2023 release works on the same principle as the GMT watch but applies the rattrapante to the minutes. It allows you to perform the function of a graduated bezel on a diver’s watch by displaying the minutes in five- and one-minute increments. The complication is presented on a warm sand-grey dial with grain d’orge hand-guilloché with skeletonised, gold hands and matching hand-applied indices. The rest of the Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF Minute Rattrapante watch follows the architecture of previous Tonda PF models with a refined 40mm stainless steel case with a platinum hand-knurled bezel and an integrated bracelet. The movement inside is the calibre PF052, an automatic winding movement with a 48 hour power reserve.

The Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF GMT Rattrapante Rose Gold Watch

Speaking of last year’s Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF GMT Rattrapante watch, it seems the brand have revived this design again as part of their Parmigiani Fleurier Watches & Wonders 2023 collection but this time executed it with an 18ct rose gold case and a stunning Milano blue dial. The user-friendly superimposed hands for the local and hour time return on a Milano blue hand-guilloché barleycorn patterned display with hand-applied rose gold indices and hands to match the 40mm 18ct rose gold case. The complication still works the same as before, allowing you to use the rhodium-plated gold hand to indicate home time while the contrasting 18ct rose gold hands show the local time. You can advance the latter in one-hour jumps by pressing the tear-drop shaped pusher at 7 o’clock and when no additional time zone is required, simply press the pusher integrated into the crown to watch it hide the rhodium hand. Yet again, the new Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF GMT Rattrapante Rose Gold watch maintains the hallmark hand-knurled bezel, integrated gold bracelet and a water resistant rating of 60 metres. The movement is also the same as last year with the automatic winding calibre PF051 offering a 48 hour power reserve.

The Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF Micro-Rotor Full Platinum Watch

The original Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF Micro-Rotor was one of the first designs introduced into the inaugural Tonda PF collection and allowed for effortlessly wearability with its super slender case. Now for their Parmigiani Fleurier Watches & Wonders 2023 collection, the design returns with all the same popular design traits but alongside a new full platinum architecture. The entirety of the Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF Micro-Rotor Full Platinum watch is made from the precious metal, 950 platinum, including the 40mm case, knurled bezel, non-screw locked crown and integrated bracelet. The case still sits low on the wrist at only 7.8mm tall thanks to the ultra-thin 3mm movement. Yet despite its delicate size, the watch sports a 100 metre water resistant rating and scratch resistant sapphire crystal glass on both the front and back. Matching with its new case material, the Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF Micro-Rotor Full Platinum watch also debuts a new platinum dial with a sandblasted finish and delta-shaped skeletonised hands for the hours and minutes. A date window is also added at 6 o’clock. Powering the classic time-and-date function is the micro-rotor automatic calibre PF703 with a 48-hour power reserve. As mentioned, you can admire the movement and its Côtes de Genève striped rotor through the exhibition case back.

The Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF Flying Tourbillon Milano Blue Watch

Another return, the Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF Flying Tourbillon watch revives the form of last year’s haute horlogerie complication but adds in a Milano blue platinum dial. The new Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF Flying Tourbillon Milano Blue watch remains a testament to the brand’s unparalleled craftsmanship and talent for blending together contemporary aesthetics with traditional watchmaking traditions. The tourbillon complication remains one of the world’s most complex and coveted functions and when placed within the Tonda PF case is made all the more tempting. The regulating organ is placed at 7 o’clock on a matte sandblasted Milano blue display with rhodium-plated skeletonised hands for the hours and minutes. The tourbillon movement on display is the ultra-thin calibre PF517 with a 48 hour power reserve. The Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF Flying Tourbillon Milano Blue watch protects the movement within a 42mm 950 platinum case with a lean profile of just 8.6mm. There’s also sapphire crystal glass on both sides of the case, a 100 metre water resistant rating and the typical integrated bracelet.

The Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF Split Seconds Chronograph Rose Gold Watch

Finally, last up in Parmigiani Fleurier’s Watches & Wonders 2023 collection is the Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF Split Seconds Chronograph Rose Gold watch. This is again a familiar sight for fans of the Swiss watch brand as the original design was launched as part of the inaugural Tonda PF collection. For the new Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF Split Seconds Chronograph Rose Gold watch, the chronograph Rattrapante complication is presented on a white dial surrounded by a new 18 carat rose gold case. The specification is much of the same; the in-house calibre PF361 powers the delta-shaped rhodium-plated and gold-plated hands on the smooth white dial. The dial still presents a pulsometer scale around its circumference and three recessed subsidiary counters for the small seconds, 12 hours and 30 minutes. Other than its new solid gold material, the case of the Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF Split Seconds Chronograph Rose Gold watch is also identical with polished finishing, a 42mm diameter and 15mm height with sapphire crystal glass, a 100 metre water resistant rating and a hand-knurled bezel.
