Bell & Ross owes much of their status in the industry to their BR 03 series which with its instantly recognisable square cases and circular dials has become a statement piece for collectors. Meanwhile, their Golden Heritage design delivers the model with a touch more sophistication and class all while retaining B&R’s successful aviation DNA.
We have seen several iterations of the Bell & Ross Golden Heritage watch before. There’s the simple three-handed BRS Golden Heritage, the BR 03-94 Chronograph and the infrequent rounded case of the BR 123 Vintage Golden Heritage. We have also come across a Bell & Ross BR 03-02 Golden Vintage watch before, a design that is almost identical to the new model we’re talking about today but with a matte black dial. The new design however, which can be found under the reference BR0392-GH-ST/SCA, has been updated to include a handsome black sunray dial beneath the familiar gilded applique numerals and indices and metal skeletonised Superluminova hands.
Everything else about the Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Golden Heritage is exactly what we’ve come to expect from the BR 03-92 collection. It’s satin-finished and polished square-shaped stainless steel case measures to 42mm in diameter and is equipped four screws and an unadorned bezel. Scratch resistant sapphire crystal glass protects the dial and is coated with an anti-reflective treatment for optimal legibility of the dial beneath. The screw in crown and solid case back also help deliver a water resistant rating of 100 metres.
Housed within the Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Golden Heritage watch is the BR-CAL.302 automatic winding movement, a Swiss made calibre based on the trusty Sellita SW300-1. Alongside its classic central hands for hours, minutes and seconds, the movement delivers a date window at 3 o’clock, 25 jewels, a power reserve of 38 hours and a frequency of 28,800 beats per hour.
