As usual, the kings of Swiss watchmaking made an entrance at this years’ Baselworld with an array of incredible new watch releases and an imposing stand set right at the front door of the event. Outside the TAG Heuer Baselworld stand, a new large feature took centre stage in the shape of an aeroplane’s propeller and tyre and the word ‘Autavia’ written in yellow across the top to celebrate the release of their new key collection.

TAG Heuer Indy 500 Limited Edition Watches
To honour the Indianapolis 500 motor race in America, TAG Heuer have released two incredible Indy 500 Limited Edition watches. One in the form of a Carrera model and another in their Formula 1 collection, each TAG Heuer Indy 500 watch embodies the adrenaline and hair-raising event which sees drivers speeding as fast as bullets around the ring in a quest to get the best time.
Both limited edition models feature stunning accents associated with the motor race including the Indianapolis 500 speedway logo on the small dial at 6 o clock and engraved onto the closed case back. The Carrera Indy 500 features the impressive Calibre 16 automatic movement which boasts a power reserve of 42 hours and incredible chronograph function. The Formula 1 version on the other hand keeps things accurate with a Swiss made quartz calibre.

TAG Heuer Monaco 2019 Watch (CBL2111.FC6453)
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the release of the original TAG Heuer Monaco watch, TAG have released this stunning reedition which follows the same aesthetics and features as the original. Adored and worn by the likes of Steve McQueen in the early 1970’s, the TAG Heuer Monaco has long since become a widely collectable timepiece and this new edition continues to perpetuate the same avant-garde spirit as its first-born counterpart with a bold blue dial and waterproof square case.
This TAG Heuer Monaco Mens watch also uses the same Calibre 11 automatic movement which was housed within the original. The Calibre 11 was the world’s first automatic chronograph movement and enabled the design to have the chronograph pushers on the right and the crown moved to the left, something that completely challenged all the codes of traditional watchmaking at the time. This fantastic timepiece is bound to be a winner with any dedicated TAG Heuer fan.

Quite easily the star of the show, the TAG Heuer Autavia watch collection brings to life a brand new range of watches that combine TAG’s connections to the world of aviation and motor racing. TAG Heuer Calibre Heuer 02T Nanograph (CAR5A8K.FT6172)
Last but certainly not least, the TAG Heuer Calibre Heuer 02T Nanograph watch made waves at Baselworld 2019 for its incredible Swiss made tourbillon chronograph movement. This amazing special edition timepiece is the first ever watch to have a hairspring made of carbon composite and is combined with the COSC certified Calibre Heuer 02 movement which asserts a power reserve of 65 hours, hands for hours, minutes, seconds, and chronograph function and a 1-minute tourbillon.
The mesmerising honeycomb and skeletonised dial of this TAG Heuer Calibre Heuer 02T Nanograph watch allows you to watch the balance wheel and aluminium bridge hard through the front while at the sapphire crystal case back you can see further into the automatic movement and some of the 33 rubies it is fitted with. The all-black PVD coated titanium case, carbon fixed bezel and neon yellow accents go unmissed on the wrist while the sporty leather and rubber lined strap keep it fitted securely and comfortably all day.
