U-Boat Launches Colourful Collection of Darkmoon Watches

With the summer months in mind, U-Boat have launched a bold range of colourful Darkmoon watches in orange, yellow and aquamarine. Limited to just 50 piece each, the designs showcase the collection’s legendary “Oil Immersion” technology which sees both the dial and movement completely submerged in a bath of lubricant oil.

U-Boat have always had a fondness for colourful dial designs, even before the ongoing trend that you see taking over the luxury watch world right now. Their U-Boat Darkmoon watch collection has showcased many of these vibrant timepieces, exploring the “Oil Immersion” concept of the Capsoil line even further with bold reds, blues, greens, browns and blacks adorning the oil-filled displays. The Italian watch brand believes that colour influences much of our daily lives, and by wearing a watch adorned with your favourite colour will subconsciously affect your mood. We are inclined to agree with them there, and we think it’s one of the many reasons colourful watch dials have become such a must-have in today’s world. With that in mind, U-Boat have launched a trio of summer-inspired watches with undeniably bright coloured dials. Meet the new U-Boat Darkmoon Limited Edition watch collection

The new U-Boat Darkmoon range consists of three colourful watches, one in yellow, another in orange and a third in aquamarine. All three present their vivid displays beneath a pool of clear oil. This innovative concept originally debuted with the U-Boat Capsoil watch adding depth and movement to the display. You’ll also spot a compensation bubble floating around the dial to protect the watch and its oil-immersed movement from changes in external temperature. We always recommend going to see one of the U-Boat Capsoil or U-Boat Darkmoon watches in person. The effect of the oil is truly amazing; it almost gives the impression the sapphire crystal glass is entirely absent.

Other than their new colourful dials, the three U-Boat Darkmoon Limited Edition watches maintain much of the same specification as previous editions. The dials are decorated with a combination of round, baton and large numeral markers all done in black as well as the “U” logo positioned at 12 o’clock. There is also matte black baton-shaped hands for the hours and minutes adorned with colour matching Superluminova.

For the cases, the U-Boat Darkmoon watches opt for classic 316L stainless steel across the 44mm diameter. The distinguishing knurled crown is placed on the left hand side and curved lugs allow the matching yellow, orange or aquamarine ultra-resistant vulcanised rubber straps to sit comfortably against the skin. The watches are water resistant to 50 metres and feature domed sapphire crystal glass and an innovative locking ring system on the case back. The latter is designed for the easy replacement of the Swiss Ronda 712.3 quartz movement within.
