The design embodies the adventurous DNA of the Swiss watch manufacturer while still upholding an impression of elegance with a unique rotating bezel set with 60 full-cut black diamonds.
Despite being an extremely youthful brand in a world of century-old watchmakers, NORQAIN, a Swiss manufacturer founded in 2018, has caught the eyes of many keen collectors and reviewers recently. While young, the team behind the brand has an extensive history in the luxury watch industry and includes CEO Ben Küffer, Ted Schneider, the very same that owned Breitling for nearly 40 years and Marc Küffer, who with over 40 years’ experience in the watch world acts as Chairman of the Board. The very same can be said for the new NORQAIN Adventure Sport 37mm Black Diamonds watch which offers a strong, durable and robust design still calling to the wrists of stylish women thanks to its opulent diamond decoration.
Starting with the case, the NORQAIN Adventure Sport 37mm Black Diamonds watch lives up to its name with a glamorous black DLC coated stainless steel body topped by a matching DLC coated unidirectional bezel. The bezel is undoubtedly the star of the show, unidirectional counter-clockwise rotating with click system, knurled for easy manipulation, and adorned with a total of 60 black full-cut diamonds. The diamonds measure to 1.5mm in diameter and in total weigh in at 0.84 carats. The case sits on the wrist at 37mm wide and 11.5mm thick and like all watches in the NORQAIN Adventure series features a polished plate on the left side engraved with the brand’s logo.
While undeniably beautiful, the case of the NORQAIN Adventure Sport 37mm Black Diamonds watch lives up to its adventurous heritage with scratch resistant double anti-reflective sapphire crystal glass and a water resistance of 100 metres. The latter is assisted by the screwed down crown at 3 o’clock engraved with the NORQAIN logo and the screw down case back with a scratch-proof sapphire crystal glass insert. Securing the women’s NORQAIN watch to the wrist is a black rubber strap detailed with a fine knurled pattern replicating the same found on the side of the bezel.
Breaking up the otherwise monochromatic palette of the NORQAIN Adventure Sport 37mm Black Diamonds watch is the dial which debuts gorgeous rose gold plated hardware for the hour markers and hands. The contrast between the pink gold and the black textured display makes reading the hours, minutes and seconds function effortless and for a nice touch, the date window at 3 o’clock is also bordered in the same rose gold for easy identification. On top of that, the indexes and hands feature glow in the dark Superluminova.
Lastly, powering the NORQAIN Adventure Sport 37mm Black Diamonds watch is the NORQAIN NN08 automatic winding calibre. It takes its base from the classic Sellita SW200 movement, promising 80 parts including 25 jewels and a personalised NORQAIN oscillating weight. We’re also guaranteed a power reserve of 38 hours and a balance wheel frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour.
