Hands-on with the NOMOS Glashutte Club Campus Cream Coral & Electric Green Watches

For a long time, NOMOS Glashutte was predominantly known for their specialised in-house movements and Bauhaus-inspired, typically monochromatic designs. Over the last few years however, some bold splashes of colour have been added to their portfolio, primarily spotted in their Club Campus line. Continuing this tradition is the new pair of NOMOS Glashutte Club Campus Cream Coral & Electric Green watches launched at this year’s Watches & Wonders event.

The NOMOS Campus Club collection first debuted in 2017 and set its sights on newbies of the luxury watch world with their entry-level price points, youthful aesthetics and in-house movements. Truly, lovers of contemporary, playful timepieces will find a lot of joy within the Club Campus series alongside a refreshing choice of colours and sizes. Back in 2021, NOMOS began to instil some relatively bold shades of colour into the line with the launch of the NOMOS Glashutte Club Campus Absolute Grey & Future Orange watches, the latter being a personal favourite for many that year. These were joined by another duo a year later with dials in Blue Purple and Deep Pink. Once again, the German watchmaker proves they have a finesse for choosing dial shades with the launch of the NOMOS Glashutte Club Campus Cream Coral & Electric Green watches.

Most of the specs for the new NOMOS Glashutte Club Campus Cream Coral & Electric Green watches follow suit to those we’ve seen before. The unisex stainless steel cases are available in 36mm or 38.5mm, the former offering a height of only 8.2mm and the latter coming in at 8.5mm tall. Both case sizes feel compact on the wrist helped by their flat case backs and curved lugs. The cases also feature 100 metre water resistant ratings, domed sapphire crystal glass, fixed polished bezels, a simple knurled crown at 3 o’clock and two choices of style for the case back. The first is your traditional closed case back which can be engraved with a personal message of your choice. The second is an exhibition case back for a view of the movement within.

The dials are what set the NOMOS Glashutte Club Campus Cream Coral & Electric Green watches apart from their predecessors. The two colour choices here are stunning, one offering a bright hue of mint green and the other done in a creamy orange-pink shade. Like before, the dial is presented with a unique California-style dial layout mixing together Arabic numerals, Roman numerals and baton markers. It sounds like a lot, but they work really great together. The hour markers glow in the dark thanks to Superluminova coating, pairing with the two black sword-shaped hands for the hours and minutes. Finally, there’s a recessed small seconds dial at 6 o’clock with a neon orange hand.

The NOMOS Glashutte Club Campus Cream Coral & Electric Green watches are powered by the brand’s Alpha, in-house manual winding movement. It beats at a frequency of 21,600vph and boasts a total of 17 jewels and a power reserve of 43 hours when fully wound. Both watches are completed by a grey suede leather strap and a classic stainless steel pin buckle.
