Originally launched in 2004 followed by a rebirth in 2016 with the SRPB09K1 Blue Lagoon, the Seiko Samurai watch collection has always remained a favourite with collectors. The new Seiko Prospex Samurai SRPD03K1 Dawn Grey watch follows a very similar design to past models with a 43.8mm by 13.4mm stainless steel case, a unidirectional bezel, Hardlex crystal glass and a screw down case back.
What makes the Seiko Prospex Samurai SRPD03K1 different to any of its predecessors is its gorgeous Dawn Grey aesthetic of orange and grey. The face of the dial is breathtaking up close with a detailed hobnail effect decorated with large white hour and minute marks and a sleek orange tipped seconds hand. The 4R35 automatic winding calibre is kept hidden behind the closed case back and equips the watch with standard hour, minute and seconds function as well as a handy date window at 3 o clock. The in-house 4R35 caliber also impresses with a 41 hour power reserve, 23 jewels and 21,600 vibrations per hour, not a bad combination for a retail price of only £410!
