SevenFriday M2B/01 Watch Review

Combining striking gunmetal greys and glimmers of rose gold, the SevenFriday M2B/01 watch is the latest addition to the brand’s highly praised M-Series and demonstrates further SevenFriday’s impeccable technical expertise and masterful design prowess. A sophisticated addition to the SevenFriday family, the SevenFriday M2B/01 watch retails at only £1,450.

As a fairly youthful watch manufacturer, SevenFriday sure know how to create a bestseller. Their M-Series watches have been incredibly popular since the moment they were first unveiled and now every release within the collection seems to do just as well. The SevenFriday M2B/01 watch has already proved to be a huge hit thanks to its stunning grey and copper aesthetic and impressive Japanese automatic movement.

The square cushion-shaped case of the SevenFriday M2B/01 watch measures to 47.6mm in width and 47mm in height and is crafted from stainless steel coated in rose gold PVD. The animation ring – which in SevenFriday lingo for bezel – is also made from stainless steel but is coated in a sleek black PVD finish. Fitted to the case is specially hardened mineral glass decorated in anti-reflective coating for easy legibility and exceptional scratch resistance.

SevenFriday are renowned for their striking and – at first -complicated looking dials. The dial of the SevenFriday M2B/01 watch is equipped with standard hour, minute and seconds functions but the way each function is arranged is anything other than ordinary. The hour is displayed through the large copper coloured numbering at 9 o clock while the minutes are shown by a sweeping graphite grey arrow on the right-hand side of the dial which glides between two sets of numbers. The seconds function is shown on the black disc located right in the centre of the dial, a device which constantly spins as each second passes.

The dial is constructed of seven integrated layers of gunmetal decorated with beautifully contrasting accents of rose gold. The gorgeous combination of grey and glowing rose gold brings a sense of sophistication and style to the wrist while the ever-ticking and fully contemporary dial is perfect for any modern man of the 21st century. Hidden beneath the dial and behind the closed rose gold plated case back is the automatic movement Miyota 8215, a Japanese manufactured calibre which provides an impressive power reserve of 40 hours, 21,600 bph and 21 jewels.

Like all new SevenFriday watches, the SevenFriday M2B/01 watch comes kitted with the NFC chip embedded behind the globe on the case back. This chip allows you to verify the authenticity of your SevenFriday watch through the smartphone app and through all SevenFriday authorised retailers.
