Just in time for the warmer weather, Swiss watchmaker Zodiac has launched a new range of ceramic diver’s watches with colourful, summer-inspired colour palettes. The new Zodiac Super Sea Wolf Ceramic Summer Colours collection features three models with hardened white ceramic cases and bezels, radiant sunburst dials and a Swiss made automatic winding movement.
I think we can all agree the Super Sea Wolf watch from Zodiac is the brand’s flagship model out of their diverse range of timepieces. It was introduced in 1953 as one of the world’s earliest dive watches and has since garnered a devoted following for its durable, water resistant cases and retro-inspired dials. Last year, to celebrate their 140th anniversary, Zodiac launched the beloved Super Sea Wolf watch in ceramic for the first time. The Zodiac Super Sea Wolf Black Ceramic ZO9595 watch remains one of the most affordable ceramic-made timepieces on the market, opting for a stealthy black ceramic case and a dark navy blue dial. In a significantly more playful turn of events, the Swiss watch manufacturer has now launched the ceramic case in white and paired it with a trio of summer-inspired dials as part of the Zodiac Super Sea Wolf Ceramic Summer Colours collection.

At first glance, the new Zodiac Super Sea Wolf Ceramic Summer Colour watches appear just like their predecessors, offering a traditional round compression case, sloped downturned lugs, a signed screw down crown at 3 o’clock and a solid screw down case back. The case however comes in a little larger than the normal 40mm diameter, measuring to 41mm. According to Zodiac, this is purely due to the hardened ceramic outer case which for the first time is done in bright white. Like the Zodiac Super Sea Wolf Black Ceramic watch from last year, the case has a stainless steel core and a ceramic outer shell for scratch-resistant, corrosion-resistant, and fade-resistant properties. This does mean the designs are not quite as weightless as full ceramic watches, but they are still lightweight and hypoallergenic.
The Zodiac Super Sea Wolf Ceramic Summer Colour watches also showcase a matching white ceramic unidirectional rotating bezel with a printed minutes scale in dark navy. There’s a luminous pip at 12 o’clock and on one of the models, reference ZO9591 with a champagne dial, bold orange accents on the first 15 minutes of the scale are included. The cases sit at 13.2mm high and offer 200 metre water resistant ratings. They secure to the wrist by Italian rubber straps that Zodiac describe as being vanilla scented and adorned with a tonal debossed logo at the end.
As mentioned, there are three designs to choose from in the new Zodiac Super Sea Wolf Ceramic Summer Colour Collection. Each has a radiant sunburst dial with Superluminova on the hours, minutes and seconds hands. The first is reference ZO9590 which elects a deep navy display, a pastel blue minutes track and a matching light blue rubber band. Meanwhile reference ZO9591 maintains the iconic orange hue of some of the world’s most famous dive watches with a champagne sunray dial, orange minutes track and orange strap. The final reference is ZO9592 with a lime green dial, orange flange and green rubber band. The three designs are powered by the Swiss-made STP 1-11 automatic winding movement with a 44-hour power reserve.
