QlockTwo W39 Watch Review

QlockTwo watches have become instant successes for their unique designs that tell the time through words rather than numbers. The brand consists of an incredible range of wall clocks, desk clocks and watches that are constructed of stunning LED lights that selectively display words across the face rather than using the traditional analog hands and numbers that we are used to.

The first QlockTwo watches to be released were the W35 with square cases measuring to 35mm in size. Now, much to the delight of those who like something a little more substantial on the wrist, QlockTwo have released a brand new collection of QlockTwo W39 watches with 39mm square cases.

With a design so different it has made it to number 1 on many ‘Unique Watches’ lists, QlockTwo have instantly caught the attention of contemporary watch collectors who understand the value of German manufacture and unique design. The QlockTwo W39 watch collection was designed by founders Beigert & Funk who wanted to take a completely different approach to watchmaking. Handcrafted to order and assembled in their workshops in Germany and winners of several international awards including the 2019 Iconic Awards: Innovative Interior, QlockTwo watches have quickly made their mark on the luxury watch market.

Each QlockTwo W39 watch offers something different for every type of wearer with case materials ranging from sleek stainless steel to stunning yellow gold, rose gold, black PVD and copper. There are a range of dial colours and strap options to choose from as well including copper, white and black dials and leather, suede, rubber and stainless steel Milanese straps.

Aside from the case material, dial colour and strap design, every QlockTwo W39 watch follows the same unique design pattern with the time spelled out in letters on the dial. Instead of having the hands showing “7:30”, the time literally reads “it is half past seven”. The square clock face is made up of 110 randomly arranged characters which are composed of LED lights to show the time within five minute segments as well as four light up dots in each corner to display the exact minute.

As well as boasting 50 metre water resistant cases and mineral crystal glass, the QlockTwo W39 watches are fitted with quartz movements with a battery life span of up to 1 year. The designers appear to have put it a lot of effort into the ergonomics of the quartz calibre, so much so that the time and date are easily changeable through one pusher on the case back. The pusher also allows you to monitor your battery power level which is something incredibly useful and rare to find in a quartz watch.

With such unique design principles and impressive German manufacture, it’s difficult to imagine a contemporary watch lover not falling for these breathtaking timepieces. If you would like more information on the QlockTwo W39 watch collection or to order your own, click here.
