Spinnaker Tesei Bronze Watches Review

New to Horologii, Spinnaker watches have recently caught our eye for their breathtaking instruments designed to take on the ocean – particularly in the form of yachting. With so many luxury watch brands focusing on the worlds of motorsport, aviation or diving, it is refreshing to see a new lifestyle represented in watch form. Spinnaker, an Italian watch manufacturer, have made it their mission to tribute the sport of yachting through a combination of high quality material, design and craftsmanship to enable each Spinnaker watch to be wearable on both land and on the waves.

One collection that we couldn’t wait to get our hands on was the new Spinnaker Tesei Bronze watches. This breathtaking range was designed to celebrate the spirit and performance of naval officers with robust cases, unfussy dials and impressive Swiss made movements. The Spinnaker Tesei Bronze watches are also the very first timepieces from the brand to be hand assembled in Switzerland.

Bronze has been the material of choice for many watch manufacturers for the past few years with watch lovers and collectors absolutely falling in love with the unique material. Spinnaker are certainly not ones to miss out on a trend and have incorporated bronze into one of their most popular collections. Bronze has a history of being used in deep sea diving helmets and its uniqueness comes from its ability to naturally age and change colour the more it is worn. When exposed to moisture in the air and pH levels in perspiration, the bronze will develop a natural patina. This means your bronze Spinnaker watch will become completely bespoke to you the more you wear it.

There are currently four different new Spinnaker Tesei Bronze watches available, each with a different coloured dial to choose from: brown, green, blue or black. The dials are kept simple but with sophisticated detailing inspired by vintage diving cues including an embossed wave pattern, large rounded indices and bold pencil shaped hour and minute hands applied with Superluminova coating.

Each Spinnaker Tesei Bronze watch boasts a 43mm sized case forged from solid bronze fitted with convex sapphire crystal glass on both the front and exhibition case back. The glass back gives us opportunity to see the breathtaking workings of the self-winding movement, the Sellita SW200 Swiss made calibre. This incredible movement equips each timepiece with hour, minute and seconds function, a date window at 3 o clock and a power reserve of 38 hours.

We are in absolute awe of these Spinnaker Tesei Bronze watches, not only for their immaculate design but for their affordable pricing. At only £740, you will struggle to find a watch like this made of bronze and fitted with a Swiss made automatic movement anywhere else.
