Laco Squad Mojave Watch Review

Another new brand to Horologii, Laco has recently caught our attention for their incredible collections of pilot, navy and sport watches that beautifully incorporate German engineering with long traditions of aviation. Today we want to take a look at the immaculate-looking Laco Squad Mojave watch which offers a robust and durable solution for daily use alongside a breathtaking design inspired the qualities of a scorpion.

The Laco Squad Mojave watch is designed to be robust, versatile and luminous in the dark, the very same assets that a scorpion has that allow it to survive and thrive in its environment. Just like a scorpion, this Laco watch for men can also take on a range of situations thanks to its scratch resistant sapphire crystal glass with anti-reflective treatment, unidirectional bezel and screwed down crown and case back.

Perfectly engineered for use at night, the Laco Squad Mojave watch is decorated with Superluminova coating on the white Arabic numerals on the dial, indexes on the bezel and hour, minute and seconds hand. Just like how a scorpion produces fluorescent materials that makes it visible at night under UV lighting, the glow emitted from the Superluminova ensures optimal readability in any low light situation as well as complete darkness. The striking black matte black dial makes for the perfect backdrop to these markers and compliments the luminous orange accents and rubber strap perfectly.

The case of the Laco Squad Mojave watch is crafted from durable stainless steel, measures to 42mm in size and comes fitted with a screw down crown to assist in its 300 metre water resistance. We are also treated to a special engraved screw down case back which is decorated by a beautiful image of a scorpion. Hidden within the case is the LACO 24 automatic movement, based on the ETA 2824.2, a highly respected calibre with fantastic precision and a power reserve of around 38 hours. The movement promises an accuracy of 0 to + 14 seconds a day and comes fitted with Incabloc protection for exceptional shock resistance.

We absolutely love the look of this Laco Squad Mojave watch and its unique celebration of one of our world’s most extraordinary creatures. It’s exceptional Swiss made movement and German design is so perfectly united that we are sure there are few German watches that can beat it, especially at a retail price of only £800.
