Rado HyperChrome 1616 Limited Edition Watch Review

Rado Watches have treated us to another addition to their HyperChrome collection with the brand new Rado HyperChrome 1616 Limited Edition watch. The collection is inspired by the brand’s Cape Horn design which was first introduced back in the 1960’s and by picking out all the best vintage quirks and bringing them to life with a modern interpretation, they have created a truly beautiful and bold timepiece.

The design of the Rado HyperChrome 1616 Limited Edition watch is a distinctive nod to the glory days of the 60’s as well celebrating the year in which Cape Horn was discovered – an achievement not to be underestimated considering it is known to be one of the most challenging nautical routes in the world. The bold 46mm by 45.5mm cushion shaped case and bright blue dial makes the timepiece a centrepiece accessory.

The case is constructed from titanium, a material five times harder than steel, while the gorgeous vintage style brown leather strap helps bring modernity and tradition together in stunning unity. The dial design of the Rado HyperChrome 1616 Limited Edition watch is a lot like marmite, you will either love it or hate it. I’m not talking about the blue dial, sapphire crystal glass or the distinctive luminescent coated hands and markers. I’m talking about the unique layout of the day and date feature located at 6 o clock. I personally love the brave decision and I think it fits perfectly alongside the retro look.

With a rugged, masculine and vintage design, the Rado HyperChrome 1616 Limited Edition watch is definitely one of a kind – or should we say one of 1,616 pieces. The model is available to order here.
