An Organically Different Timpeiece – Dietrich Watches

Have you discovered Dietrich watches?

These futuristic timepieces were created by product designer Emmanuel Dietrich. With 20 years experience designing watches for the likes of Technomarine, Louis Vuitton, Calvin Klein and Hermes, Dietrich founded his own brand in 2009 where he could truly explore his creativity and magnify his artistic scope.

“As a designer, an object-obsessed-daydreamer, you spend your life collecting visual impressions,” Dietrich says. “My mind and imagination are saturated with images and experiences that echo and mix ultimately laying the groundwork for my designs.”

Emmanuel Dietrich was born in Besançon, the historical watch capital of France. His lifelong love of watches was influenced by the culture of his birthplace. The existing collection of Dietrich watches consists of three models: the OT-1, OT-2 and OT-3. Each timepiece features a different striking colour scheme: green, yellow or red. ‘OT’ stands for ‘Organic Time’, a concept Emmanuel Dietrich uses to inspire his design work.

“The Organic Time is the translation of my singular world,” Dietrich explains. “It is the expression of my desire for balance, a balance between feelings, forms, sensations and pleasure. It is the culmination of my design signature: delicate but bold, powerful yet sensual. The Organic Time is more than a desirable object; it is a tool that speaks the same organic language as our bodies. This is the philosophy that generates the Organic Time, an organically different timepiece.”

The watches feature an ergonomic case design, made of micro-bead blasted and polished 316L steel. The OT-1 and OT-2 models also feature a black PVD coating. The cases are 48 mm in length and 46 mm wide, with eye-catching open dials made up of four layers. The first and third layers are in a sun-brushed black, while the second and fourth layers are vertical-brushed black to give contrasting textures. The hands, indexes and 24 hours indicator feature bright luminescent SuperLumiNova for visibility in darkness.

All three models are powered by the modified automatic mechanical movement Miyota 82-S-7.

Additional features include sapphire glass with anti-glare coating, a crown sealed with a double O-ring, and water resistance up to 50 metres. Dietrich watches come with a double layered Nylon strap that is threaded through the watch case, making the straps easily interchangeable for a different look.

These fantastic watches are available to order at Jura Watches for £995.
