Following on from the success of the original Raymond Weil Beatles tribute timepiece released in 2016, the brand have continued this collaboration by releasing a new design with a much cleaner aesthetic. The new Raymond Weil Beatles 2017 Limited Edition watch pays homage to the legendary band and in particular their last recorded album, Abbey Road. There are only 3,000 pieces of this limited edition model being released, and if it becomes as popular as the original it isn’t expect to stay in stock for very long.
Boasting a much cleaner dial design than the original, the new Raymond Weil Beatles 2018 Limited Edition watch is no longer decorated with album titles all around the edge but is kept simple with a new striking black grooved face that is a copy of a vinyl record. The main attraction of the dial is of course the iconic Abbey Road album cover depicting the band walking across the famous pedestrian crossing at 4 o clock. The three-dimensional steel image is stunning, illustrating the outlined figures of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr striding across the face of their very own timepiece. The dial is also set with the famous The Beatles logo right in the centre.
The Raymond Weil Beatles 2017 Limited Edition watch is crafted from a gorgeous polished stainless steel measuring to 39.5mm wide and 9.2mm thick and is fastened to the wrist by a classic stainless steel bracelet and folding style clasp with a double push security system. Interestingly enough, this model – just like the original – is not available on a leather strap due to the request of remaining band members Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney who are strongly against the use of animal leather. The memorable timepiece is powered by a mechanical automatic winding movement which equips the watch with hours, minutes and seconds function, a date window at 3 o clock and a power reserve of 38 hours. The exquisite mechanical movement can be admired through the sapphire crystal case back which has also been decorated with the famous Beatles logo.
