It’s been a huge year for IWC Schaffhausen already, with much of the focus falling on the return of their Genta-inspired Ingenieur watch during Watches & Wonders 2023. A little more discreetly however, the Swiss watchmaker has also launched several other brilliant timepieces like a salmon-coloured Portugieser and some blue and black ceramic Pilot’s 41 Chronographs. Then there’s the new IWC Green Editions collection which features an extensive list of Pilot’s and Portugieser watches with new green dials. There’s a lot of models to get through, so let’s get started…
IWC Pilot’s Watch Mark XX Green (IW328205 & IW328206)
Speaking of discreet releases, last year IWC launched their first Pilot’s Mark XX watch, slimming down the profile and upgrading the movement of the previous Mark VXIII edition and electing a blue or black dial. Now as part of the IWC Green Editions collection, the design is updated with a new green sunray-brushed display for effortless contrast against the large white Superluminova-coated numerals and sword-shaped hands. The IWC Pilot’s Mark XX Green watches under references IW328205 and IW328206 also present 40mm stainless steel cases, sapphire crystal glass, 100 metre water resistant ratings and the IWC-manufactured 32111 automatic winding calibre for a 120-hour power reserve.

IWC Big Pilot’s Watch 43 Green (IW329306)
If you like the stylings of the Mark XX watch above but you want something with a more imposing presence on the wrist, then IWC have also added a new green-dial to their Big Pilot’s Watch 43. The 43mm stainless steel case is equipped with the model’s iconic large knurled screw in crown for a 100 metre water resistant rating and secures to the wrist by a bold green rubber band to match with its novel green display. The dial of the IWC Big Pilot’s Watch 43 Green IW329306 remains clear and legible for the cockpit with no date window in sight and Superluminova across the numerals and hands. The time-only function is powered by the IWC-manufactured 82100 automatic winding movement with a 60 hour power reserve.

IWC Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 Green (IW388103 & IW388104)
The IWC Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 is one of the Swiss watch brand’s most popular designs so we know many of you will enjoy the new green-dialled models launched as part of the IWC Green Editions collection. All the staple features of the design are still there including a 41mm steel case, sapphire crystal glass and 100 metre water resistance. Through an exhibition case back, the IWC Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 Green watches under references IW388103 and IW388104 display the IWC-manufactured 69385 automatic winding movement with a 46 hour power reserve and indicators for the hours, minutes, central chronograph seconds, small seconds, 12 hours counter, 30 minutes counter, day and date.

IWC Big Pilot’s Watch Green (IW501015)
The biggest design in the new IWC Green Editions collection is the IWC Big Pilot’s Watch Green under reference IW501015. It delivers all the same design codes as its smaller counterpart above including the large screw in crown, fixed bezel, sapphire crystal glass and sunray-brushed green dial with Superluminova hands and numerals. It differs however for its larger stainless steel case which sits on the wrist at 46.2mm wide and the addition of a power reserve indicator and date complication on the dial. These functions are powered by the IWC-manufactured 52110 Calibre with a whopping 168 hour power reserve.

IWC Portugieser Chronograph Green Watch (IW371615)
Alongside the pilot’s watches in the IWC Green Editions collection, the Schaffhausen-based brand has also added a trio of dressy Portugieser models to the mix. The first is the classic IWC Portugieser Chronograph Green watch under reference IW371615. It’s the epitome of a sophisticated dress watch with a slim 41mm stainless steel case, sapphire crystal glass on the front and back and a black alligator leather strap. You’ll notice the green dials of the Portugieser watches are a little different to the Pilot’s models, offering a metallic sheen to the green sunray-brushed surface. In this case, the dial is paired with silvered hardware and snailed subsidiary dials for the small seconds and chronograph counters. The watch is powered by the IWC-manufactured 69355 automatic movement with a 46 hour power reserve.

IWC Portugieser Automatic 40 Green Watch (IW358310)
For a cleaner look, the IWC Green Editions collection also offers the time-only IWC Portugieser Automatic 40 Green watch under reference IW358310. The metallic green display is dressed in the Portugieser’s famous feuille hands for the hours and minutes, simple Arabic numerals and a snailed small seconds counter at 6 o’clock. Powering these functions is the IWC-manufactured 82200 Calibre with a 60 hour power reserve which can be admired through the exhibition case back when it’s not secured to the wrist by the green alligator leather strap. The IWC Portugieser Automatic 40 Green watch also delivers a 40mm steel case, 30 metre water resistance and sapphire crystal glass.

IWC Portugieser Perpetual Calendar 42 Green Watch (IW344207)
Finally, we have the IWC Portugieser Perpetual Calendar 42 Green watch under reference IW344207 which is easily the most technically complicated design out of the entire IWC Green Editions collection. It presents IWC’s famous 82650 Calibre perpetual calendar movement which automatically recognises the different lengths of the months and adds a leap day at the end of February every four years. The green metallic display presents the hours, minutes, seconds, date, day, month, leap year and perpetual moon phase for 60 hours off the wrist. There’s also a 42mm steel case, sapphire crystal glass, 30 metre water resistant rating and a green alligator leather strap.
