“I get a tick out of you” Raymond Weil Pays Tribute to Life of Frank Sinatra. Basel 2015!

rw 1Raymond Weil class themselves as a “music loving family” and what better way to embrace their passion for both luxury timekeeping instruments and the music industry, than creating a memorable tribute to the actor, singer and director, Frank Sinatra in the form of a beautifully crafted mechanical watch. The famous American producer would have been celebrating his 100th birthday this year and as a celebration of his contributions to the pop, jazz and swing industry, the watch brand have decided to join the Sinatra family in commemorating this special anniversary.

The Raymond Weil Maestro Frank Sinatra Limited Edition
watch pays homage to a legendary artist who once modestly quoted “I would like to be remembered as a man who had a wonderful time living life, a man who had good friends, fine family – and I don’t think I could ask for anything more than that, actually”. The limited edition reflects not only the singer’s iconic persona but enhances those characteristics that charmed the nation – his elegance, charisma, style and passion. CEO of Raymond Weil, Elie Bernheim conveys the intentions behind the stunning new piece: “It is a great honor to have partnered with the Frank Sinatra Enterprises to create a design that rw 3celebrates this special occasion. Frank Sinatra was a charismatic character who left an indelible mark in the hearts and minds of many generations; he embodied an era, a style, and a tradition and was above all a passionate man of extraordinary talent. As a music-loving family company, it is perfectly fitting that we pay tribute to this undisputed maestro of music with a limited edition piece in our maestro collection.” The late entertainer’s son has explained how Sinatra would always proclaim his gratitude for accurate timekeeping within his work whether that be preparing for an on-stage performance or practicing within a studio environment, insisting that his wristwatch guaranteed a faithful service to him. The centennial commemoration steadfastly maintains these standards with integrity, evoking a sense of nostalgia and admiration for precision combined with due regard for the singer’s views. Building on the foundations of the Maestro family, the automatic mechanical wind hosts an in-house movement and a crisp exhibition glass back, showcasing a special celebratory Sinatra insignia. Reminiscent of the icon’s birthday, there will only be a total of 1,212 pieces available in the world. One solitary Roman numeral at the 12 o’clock position signifies Sinatra’s birthday of December 12th. The index markers, hands and date window border are dressed in a bright blue hue, paying respect to the famed “Ol’ Blue Eyes”. The man of legendary status remains the soul motivation for this extraordinary timepiece. The wave-like decoration of the face reinforces a clear layout and elongated sweeping second hand encircled by a smooth stainless steel finish.

Throughout 2015, the “King of Swing” will be globally honored to mark his memorable attributes to the music and film industry – the Raymond Weil Maestro Frank Sinatra Limited Edition being one particularly stunning innovation from the brand’s long line of musically inspired chef d’oeuvres.
