Tag Heuer Connected Modular 45 Watch Review

Considered by many as the first genuine smartwatch to come from a Swiss luxury watch brand, the TAG Heuer Connected Modular 45 watch gives the wearer the ability to choose from over 4,000 design options. The TAG Heuer Connected Modular 45 watch is the second release in the brand’s smartwatch collection and it pretty much allows you to customise every element of the watch including the lugs, buckle, case material, bezel and strap while continuing to bring even more additions to the spec like GPS function, workout tracking and NFC payment ability.

There have been many other Swiss watch manufacturers that have tried playing around with the smartwatch concept like Mondaine combining forces with Barclays and NFC payment and Frederique Constant who made some pleasing designs with smartphone connectivity, but TAG Heuer have become one of the first to go all in with customisable dials, interchangeable straps and Android technology.

The TAG Heuer Connected Modular 45 watch is just a fraction smaller than its predecessor measuring to 45mm rather than the original 46mm and is available in a variety of different designs including rose gold, titanium and steel. The touch screen is crafted from sapphire crystal and is predominantly controlled by the crown which allows you to personalise your dial depending on your mood or outfit. You can change everything from the indice and hand metal to the lacquered tips, and for those of us who don’t have the thousands for a tourbillon or skeleton watch, you can simply change to these designs with a click of a button.

This TAG Heuer smart watch is one of the first to use Google’s Android Wear 2.0 operating system that means it is still possible to use the watch’s features when its not connected to a smartphone. So for those of you who would use the GPS or fitness tracker, it means the watch will still track your movements without your phone being near by. iPhone users also have the ability to download and run third party apps – something that was previously unavailable on last year’s model.

With a starting retail price of £1,400 – an impressive number for a luxury Swiss smart watch – this TAG Heuer Connected Modular 45 watch is ready and available to order now. You can find the full collection here
