Holding up to the brand’s diving history since the 1960’s, Alpina have this year released another member to their Seastrong collection – the Seastrong Diver 300 Chronograph Big Date. The brand who consider themselves leaders in robust sports wristwatches built for high altitudes and great depths, have come to the forefront of cutting-edge technology over the past 100 years as they continue to build on their portfolio of professional diving chronographs for the elite. The Seastrong family incorporates watches that are adequately suited for yachting and sailing as well as the serious diver, yet the collection is extremely varied in scope. From models such as the Alpina Seastrong Diver 300 Orange, dressed in the most visible hue for underwater environments, to novelties such as the Alpina Seastrong Yacht Timer Regatta Countdown which is, in the words of Alpina’s themselves , “the crown prince of the nautical world”, the brand have dedicated a number of their models to delivering no less than excellence when it comes to practical underwater uses.
The Alpina Seastrong Diver 300 Chronograph Big Date is designed to cope with the most trying of natutical conditions. The water resistant qualities of the timepiece ensure perfect order is maintained inside the internal factory of the timepiece whilst under depths of 1000 feet below sea level allowing the tool to venture down to depths that no human ever could! The new highbred is designed so that the wearer sees what they need to see – no more and certainly no less! The necessary features that equip the model with this level of capacity allow for the owner to access all the information that is needed for the deepest and most exciting of explorations and most demanding of challenges. Equipped with an aluminium unidirectional turning bezel which rotates only in an anticlockwise direction, facilitates a “fail-safe” mechanism so that the number of elapsed minutes can never be accidentally decreased. The 60 minute markers which decorate the outer bezel are also highly luminous – a quality which is reiterated in the hand and hour indices of the dial as well as the hour indexes on the main face itself. Maximum readability in low light conditions is paramount to expert divers who reply on Alpina’s ultra-tough construction and high-precision qualities to see them through their journey with complete safety instilled at all times. Alpina’s 44mm Seastrong Diver 300 Chronograph which is available in shades of deep mulberry, burnt orange, slate grey and midnight blue on the bezel, offers a number of in-built features to maximise its credibility as a pure-bred piece of instrumental diving kit. These additional features include a rugged cushion shaped stainless steel case, scratch-resistant and anti-reflective sapphire crystal glass front, a water resistant genuine leather strap and a screw-in crown and caseback which showcases a beautiful engraving of the Alpina watches diving symbol. The brands niche blend of distinctive functional and aesthetic features runs parallel with the expertly performing AL-372 Swiss High Precision Quartz Chronograph movement, offering 1/10th of a second accuracy. The movement not only offers 48 months of battery life but beautifully displayed 30 and 10 hour chronograph counters with split functions.
The incredibly legible Alpina Seastrong Diver 300 Chronograph sits proudly amongst the brand’s previous Seastrong descendants, presenting collectors with a practical watch which delivers its uses both in an everyday sense as well as a companion to sit on the wrist of the exreme diver.
