Since it was founded in 2003, the Movember Foundation has been encouraging men to grow their facial hair throughout the month of November to raise money and support over 1,200 health projects worldwide. Their mission is to help men live happier and healthier while raising awareness and funds for causes like prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention. This year Oris have taken the role as Official Watch Partner for the Movember Foundation and released a cutting-edge timepiece based on their iconic Oris Divers Sixty Five watch with some added details inspired by the men’s health organisation.
The Oris Sixty Five Movember Edition watch is based on a reincarnation of an old Oris diver’s watch that could be found in the collection 50 years ago. It boasts a 40mm multi-piece stainless steel case with a minutes scale top ring and sapphire crystal glass with anti-reflective coating on the inside. The distinctive vintage inspired dial and retro shaped markers coated in Superluminova not only shout back to the 1960’s but give the dial a clear and easy to read appeal.
Nevertheless, the retro finish does not take away from the contemporary Oris 773 automatic movement within. The incredible automatic mechanism equips the Oris Sixty Five Movember Edition watch with centre hands for hours, minutes and seconds, a date window at 3 o clock and a power reserve of 38 hours. Unlike many of the other Oris Sixty Five watches, you are not able to admire the movement through an open case back, but instead we are treated to a stunning solid steel back that has been beautifully engraved with the 1960’s version of the Oris logo surrounded by the words “Oris Movember Edition” and the famous Movember Foundation moustache logo
