Oris are starting off 2018 with a bang and have released the Oris Big Crown ProPilot GMT REGA Limited Edition watch for immediate sale! This stunning timepiece is the second made in support of their partnership with REGA, a non-profit Swiss air rescue service. The first was the Oris Altimeter REGA watch, another limited edition that sold incredibly well.
Unlike the original, the Oris Big Crown ProPilot GMT REGA Limited Edition watch proudly displays a second-time zone indicated by a 24 hour central hand. This useful feature has been chosen alongside the REGA jet pilots to represent the service they provide all over the world in many different time zones. The timepiece is also equipped with centre hands for hours and minutes, a subsidiary seconds dial at 9 o clock and a large instantaneous date window at 3 o clock.
The black dial is truly striking up close and has been decorated with the red REGA logo and a matching red tipped GMT hand and red ‘GMT’ text at 6 o clock. The face is also equipped with large Arabic numerals and hands that have been coated in Superluminova for easy legibility in the dark. Housing the dial is domed sapphire crystal glass with an antireflective treatment and surrounding that is the 45mm grey plated stainless steel case which gives a stunning and unmissable effect as well as a water resistance of 100 metres.
Turn the Oris Big Crown ProPilot GMT REGA Limited Edition watch over and admire the gorgeous grey PVD plated stainless steel case back that has been specially engraved with the REGA logo and the limited edition number. Hidden behind the case back is the Oris 748 automatic winding movement based on the SW 220-1, an exquisite calibre that equips the timepiece with 28 jewels and a power reserve of 38 hours. To complete the look of the Oris Big Crown ProPilot GMT REGA Limited Edition watch, a grey textile strap is added with a striking red lining to match the red detailing on the dial. The strap is fastened by a classic grey PVD plated stainless steel folding clasp.
