Nomos Tangente Bauhaus Limited Edition Watch Review

To celebrate the 100th birthday of the German Bauhaus movement, Nomos has released a stunning collection of limited edition Nomos Tangente Bauhaus watches with each model limited to only 100 pieces. The Nomos Tangente range is one of the most popular and most recognisable models from the brand becoming the watch that has been in production longer than any other luxury timepiece in the German town of Glashütte. It is because of this that they decided to commemorate the Bauhaus movement with what has been described as the official ‘Bauhaus watch’.

Nomos Glashutte has always focused on creating “timepieces that members of the Bauhaus movement would design and wear today.” With this in mind, the German watch brand have taken inspiration from the books and drawings of Paul Klee, one of the men behind the Bauhaus movement, and taken three primary colours of red, blue and yellow and circled the dial to represent the circular motion of time. There are 9 Nomos Tangente Bauhaus Limited Edition watches in total with three of each colour in 33mm, 35mm and 38mm.

The design of each Nomos Tangente Bauhaus Limited Edition watch has been kept simple and understated just how us Nomos fans like it. The colour of the dials is reminiscent of the matte yellow-hue of sketch paper and is circled by a choice of red, blue or yellow. Meanwhile the seconds dial at 6 o clock is detailed with subtle circular groves and the painted black numerals follow the same recognisable font as all other Nomos Tangente models.

Nomos are renowned for their inhouse movements and chosen to power each Nomos Tangente Bauhaus watch is the manual winding Alpha calibre. The Alpha movement was the brand’s first ever inhouse calibre and can be found in more Nomos watches than any other.  This impressive movement equips each Nomos Tangente Bauhaus limited edition watch with hour and minute hands, a seconds dial at 6 o clock and a power reserve of 43 hours.

With 9 variations to choose from and different price points for each size, there is definitely a Nomos Tangente Bauhaus watch for everyone. The 33mm model retails at £1,260, the 35mm at £1,360 and the 38mm comes to £1,520.
