Bremont Airco Mach 1 and Mach 2 Watch Review

Bremont Airco Mach 1 and Mach 2 Watch Review

Bremont are renowned for their British aviation inspired timepieces and their new Bremont Airco Mach watch collection follows suit with an impressive double act. This is the first 40mm traditional looking three-hand pilot watch that has been released by the brand and the design and functionality does not disappoint.

The Bremont Airco Mach 1 and Bremont Airco Mach 2 watches are named after the ‘Aircraft Manufacturing Company Limited’, one of the very first British military aircraft manufacturers.  The overall look of the pair is incredibly similiar to the 1940’s watches that were worn by pilots during the war but each has its own unique personality that comes to life on the wrist.

Let’s start with the Bremont Airco Mach 1 watch. This is definitely the more vintage-inspired of the two and would make a perfect everyday watch. Its beautiful satin finished 40mm case has an overall height of only 12.5mm and has been crafted using Bremont’s renowned Trip-Tick construction making it extremely scratch resistant. The opalin black matte metal dial is the centrepiece of the design and is decorated with gorgeous orange accents, a railway minute track and Super-LumiNova coated hands and markers. The dark brown vintage looking leather strap brings the whole piece together, bringing to life the classic looking pilots watch aesthetic.

Measuring to the same size as its counterpart and boasting the same BE-92AE automatic chronometer movement, the Bremont Airco Mach 2 watch comes closer to a dress watch with its striking polished case and bold nickel polished Arabic numerals. The dial is made much cleaner in this model with a rectangular date window at 6 o clock and only a small splash of red at the 60 minute marker. The Bremont Airco Mach 2 looks simply stunning on the wrist and makes for an incredibly sophisticated dress watch with good proportions and strong legibility.

We didn’t know we needed a 40mm Bremont pilots watch, but after admiring both the Bremont Airco Mach 1 and the Bremont Airco Mach 2 we can’t imagine life without them. They are both flawlessly proportioned and offer two unique personalities suitable for more than one occasion. For more information on each model and where to purchase your own, click here.
