In 2009 the Hampton, the iconic watch prorduced by Baume & Mercier, is celebrating its 15th birthday this year – 2009. And as is custom in the watch making industry, Baume & Mercier have produced a new collection to mark this anniversary.
The Hampton was inspired by a pink gold watch introduced by Baume & Mercier in 1960 that overturned existing watchmaking codes with its rectangular case. The collection of Hampton watches was launched in 1994 and became an instant favourite, and has over the years always managed to maintain its original identity.
The new models in the Hampton collection feature three different watches: Hampton Classic, Hampton Manchette and Hampton magnum.
The Classic model retains the simple elegance of the original Hampton watch, but offers a redesigned rectangular case with a more contemporary line. The Classic Hampton is available in a number of modles for both men and women. The Hampton Manchette is a jewelry watch with glamour and an ultra feminine style. Finally, the Hampton Magnum, pictured here, is a sport yet sophisticated variation on the Hampton theme. This model is larger than before and also available in an all-white feminine version.
