SevenFriday T3/02 Runway 07 Limited Edition Review

After the success of their S1/03 Gate 07, SevenFriday have extended their ‘airport’ series with the stunning new SevenFriday T3/02 Runway 07 watch. The limited edition of 250 pieces has already been incredibly popular online, and rightly so, with its complex dial and intricate design brilliantly portraying the vibrant and unique atmosphere of airports. This is definitely a watch that inspires you to travel.

Since it’s unveiling last year, the SevenFriday T-Series collection has become a first-choice for many SevenFriday wearers with its smaller, thinner and lighter case design compared to any other SevenFriday series. The SevenFriday T3/02 Runway 07 watch features a 316L stainless steel case measuring to 45mm in width, 45.6mm in height, 12.95mm in thickness and only 118 grams in weight. The design is beautifully completed by switching between polished, brushed and sandblasted finishes.

The dial of the SevenFriday T3/02 Runway 07 Limited Edition is where the magic happens, boasting an intricate view of the automatic winding movement inside and showcasing a playful use of airport graphic signages. Highlighted in accents of yellow, the dial features a take off motif at 3 o’clock detailed with the T3/02 and a signpost graphic for the F07 runway paired with the SevenFriday logo at 6 o’clock. Whether you are a pilot or passenger, precision timing at the airport is critical so the design of the dial also cleverly includes M:0 minute markers at each 20 minute point and the hour in military time to match.

Typical to many of their new releases, the SevenFriday T3/02 Runway 07 watch also plays around with elements of transparency and gradients by using a piece of sunglasses lens as the dial. The concept was first used in their T2/01 watch to platform their latest eyewear collection, but the notion has continued throughout the entire series for its playful semi-transparent finish and additional legibility of the luminous hour and minute markers when paired with the K1 hardened mineral crystal glass with anti-reflective treatment.

Housed beneath the dial is the Seiko NH70 automatic winding movement, another new feature extended throughout the T-Series collection. Beforehand, SevenFriday watches were widely known for using only Miyota calibres, but it’s Japanese replacement, the Seiko NH70, provides even better functionality and power reserve. The SevenFriday T3/02 Runway 07 Limited Edition features classic central hands for hour and minute function and a power reserve of 40 hours. The skeleton movement is exposed on the dial offering a new interface experience for the wearer.

SevenFriday’s ode to travelling, the aptly-named T3/02 Runway 07 Limited Edition sports a boldly elegant design that we know many of our followers will enjoy. Limited to only 250 pieces worldwide, don’t be late if you are interested in ordering one, as we are certain the departure of this stunning new release will be on time!
