Introducing: the Bremont Solo Lady K Watches

A tribute to co-founders Nick and Giles English’s mother, British watch manufacturer Bremont has unveiled a new duo of Bremont Solo Lady K watches. Featuring two mother of pearls dials and an abundance of diamonds, the releases take their name from the boat their father lovingly hand-built for their mother and symbolises her own artistic and adventurous spirit, now free to be passed on to women everywhere.

Since its founding in 2002, Bremont has stood as a testament to true British watch manufacture combining the brothers shared love for aviation and mechanical timepieces. At the start of their history, their focus was centred entirely on creating luxury men’s watches inspired by cockpit instruments and historic aircrafts. That was until 2016 with the release of the Henley-on-Thames manufacturer’s first ladies’ collection. The Bremont Solo 32 was a huge success, opting for a quality calibre and finish neither dull nor over decorated taking inspiration from classic pilots watches from the 1940’s.  A few years later, the Bremont Solo 34 was announced delivering the same aesthetics but in a slightly bigger case size with different references named after famous female pilots including Amy Johnson and Lettice Curtis.

Late last year, Bremont then collaborated with the Hawking family to launch a limited edition series to honour one of Britain’s greatest scientific heroes, Stephen Hawking. The Bremont Hawking collection featured a trio of men’s watches and a special ladies’ model which for the first time in Bremont history was adorned with diamonds. Now, for the first time in their core collections, the sparkle of diamonds is welcomed on a pair of new Bremont Solo Lady K watches. Still building on the brand’s established aviation and military principles, the Lady K duo retains the familiar visuals of Solo watches before them but strikes a new level of elegance and finesse with diamonds on the dial and bezel and two mother of pearl dial designs in white mother of pearl and black Tahitian mother of pearl.

In total, Bremont utilises eight claw-set full-cut 1.3mm VS2 GH diamonds on the dial as hour markers and a further 60 white brilliant cut 1.35mm VVS FG diamonds on the stainless steel bezel. Bremont promises that these diamonds are ethically sourced, conflict free and follow the Kimberley Process. In turn, the base of the dials shimmer just as indefinitely engineered from two tones of mother of pearl. The white mother of pearl model showcases a spell-bounding lustre just like that of real pearls with a cream, pink and green iridescence. The black Tahitian mother of pearl variant boasts a darker opalescence, one which changes colour constantly with every movement of the wrist glistening in shades of blue, pink, yellow, purple and green. Due to the nature of mother of pearl, each dial is completely unique.

The rest of the Bremont Solo Lady K dial follows suit to previous Solo Ladies models with large Arabic numerals placed at the 12, 3 and 9 o’clock positions, slender nickel polished hands for hours, minutes and seconds and a date window at 6 o’clock. The white mother of pearl model has a date window in white while the black Tahitian variant is suitably paired with a blacked out date complication. Driving each of these functions is the modified calibre 11 1/2’’’ BE-92AV automatic winding movement which has been chronometer certified and delivers a running time of 42 hours. It also encourages a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and is equipped with 25 jewels.

The automatic movement and the Bremont-decorated oscillating rotor can be witnessed through the sapphire crystal case back secured by 4 stainless steel screws with polished heads. A screw in crown sits at 3 o’clock on the right hand side and impresses with a resilient 500 metre water resistant rating – a score not often seen on ladies’ watches like this. The case of the Bremont Solo Lady K watches measure to 42mm in diameter and are engineered from the brand’s iconic Trip-Tick construction with a polished finishing. Completing the case is a scratch resistant DLC treated case barrel, domed anti-reflective sapphire crystal glass and a two-tone adjustable stainless steel bracelet with double deployment buckle.

Both Bremont Solo Lady K watches are available to order now on the Jura Watches website with interest free finance and free delivery. If you’d like to learn more, get in touch with the team on 01335 453453 or send us a message at help@jurawatches.co.uk
