For those in search of the absolute best in luxury watch making, the French giants BRM have been continuing to develop their skills in producing and refining the elite specimen known as the V6-44 over the past year, and have now launched the unveiling of its prestigious glory at the 2015 Baselworld show just two months ago. The impressive automatic chronograph has exceeded expectations once again, surpassing all other fashionable models and striving for expert digital technology, enveloped within a sharp, classic and powerful aesthetic.
BRM watches have been perfecting the art of assembling the most complex watch parts for many years now, some of which are no longer manufactured by rival companies and it is this dedication and drive which has lead to a collection of exquisite masterpieces, each with a distinct personality that can only be traced back to that of a true BRM thoroughbred. These unclassifiable and unconventional instruments produced as a result of the brand’s extreme prowess, of who pay heavy emphasis on quality production rather than quantity, allows for a unique recipe of preserved techniques to be followed closely and loyally in order to protect their renowned and unbeatable engineering secrets. The BRM V6-44-SA-Gulf Limited Edition watch (supplier model number V6-44-SA-GULF) selects elements of pure racing spirit and a lively passion for motor sport, and expresses these fundamentals as a form of contemporary mastery. Blending ingredients such as adventure, individuality and innovation together – the new model successfully reinforces the beauty of independently sourced materials and their capability to create a “never seen before” vision. The Bernard Richards Manufacture BRM has limited this pedigree time reader to just 100 pieces, which does not come as a surprise once we take a look at what makes the watch so rare. Celebrating a fruitful partnership between the watch brand and Gulf, the V6-44-SA-Gulf model represents the company’s strong historic links with top-line motor sport. The black PVD treated brushed stainless steel case which protects the internal workings of the timepiece, consists of up to 18 different case parts as opposed to the usual 2 or 3 expected in watches produced from close competitors to the brand. BRM have focussed on manufacturing each of the instrument’s components separately so that constituent such as the lugs, strap and crown can be individually screwed into the case, allowing for a range of materials and effects to be employed. The back of the case includes a special number
allocation which has been stamped into the small metal nameplate, acting as a chassis for the watch and strengthening the brand’s relationship with Gulf who took part in the 24 hours Le Mans race this year for the very first time with GT, LMP, and LP1. The new V4-66-SA-Gulf bears an exclusive suspended movement with 3 vertical shock absorbers to protect the timepiece against harsh external factors such as bumps, knocks, falls and vibrations. The 100 meter water resistant shell hosts a stunning matte black dial which comes alive thanks to its powder blue Gulf stripe and sumptuous tangerine orange, perforated hour and minute hands. An elegantly sweeping seconds hand also decorated in orange hue, graces the periphery of the dial, gliding over the striking Gulf logo which emanates below the 12th hour mark and giving perfect balance to the date aperture which rests above the 6 o’clock location. More than 20 tracings accompany the watch dial, each crated to ideal proportions. The ornamented hands and hour indices have been hand applied, as have the assembly screw of the watch, which are built specifically and composed of three holes to meet the requirements of their tailored dimensions. The BRM V6-44-SA-Gulf has been finished on a genuine black leather strap with a stainless steel pin buckle and light blue and orange contrast stitching. The strap buckle itself consists of no less than 12 individualised parts, adding leverage to its precious rarity.
Whether it be the technical wizardry involved in the cultivating of such a breathtaking timepiece, or the distinctive execution found within the sporty angles of the racing-inspired design which evoke a deep-seated excitement, the 44mm BRM V6-44-SA-Gulf priced at £3250.00 encourages any wearer’s personality to flourish when adorning their wrist with its captivating presence.
