An Introduction to Messika Jewellery

An Introduction to Messika Jewellery

While our forte may be luxury watches, we also have a fondness for fine jewellery here at Horologii and every now and then we like to get close and personal with an upcoming brand. Today that is Messika, a Paris based jeweller with a talent for diamonds and 18ct gold. Here’s everything you need to know about Messika jewellery…

Where it all began…

At a young age, Valérie Messika was introduced to the importance of quality gemstones. Her father, Andre Messika, was prominent diamond dealer and his own passions and experience with diamonds were passed down to his daughter who in 2005, launched her own fine jewellery brand. Named after the family name, the first Messika store opened in the fashion capital of the world, Paris, where Valérie’s handmade selections of diamond rings, bracelets, necklaces and earrings were exhibited to the world.

From the off-set, Messika jewellery became known as the perfect balance between inexpensive costume jewellery and over-priced gemstones, offering stunning diamonds jewellery designs that were achievable to women everywhere. One of Valérie Messika’s first collections was the Skinny Bracelet, a design characterised by its super flexible 18ct gold chain and delicate diamond settings. Shortly after, the Messika Move jewellery collection was launched, the brand’s flagship line inspired by Valérie’s childhood memory of her father entertaining her by sliding diamonds between his fingers. The moving gemstone and its unmissable sparkle encouraged the suspended three diamonds found within each piece of Messika Move jewellery today.

The Messika Jewellery Collections

There is certainly no shortage of diamond necklaces, rings, bracelets and earrings to choose from in the Messika jewellery collections. The Messika Move is undoubtedly their most illustrious design with a piece from the collection selling every 30 minutes. The idea behind the Messika Move jewellery line comes from Valérie’s philosophy: “A diamond is never more beautiful than when it is in motion.” As such, each piece features three diamonds suspended within an oblong 18ct gold setting and as you move, so do the diamonds.

The purist embodiment of this idea is the Messika Move Classic jewellery line and its selections of timeless pieces designed for everyday wear. Each necklace, ring, bracelet or pair of earrings exemplifies affordable luxury with 18ct yellow, white or rose gold kept pure and simple with just three diamonds centre stage. They can be worn alone for a classic, everyday look or stacked together for a statement finish. More recently, the brand launched their Messika Move 10th jewellery collection which celebrated the collection’s birthday with a series of stunning pave designs for even more sparkle.

Outside of the Messika Move lines, there are several other collections for you to enjoy. Messika Gatsby jewellery brings to life the decadence and glamour of the 1920’s through dazzling diamond three-row rings, diamond bar bracelets and diamond vertical bar necklaces. Just how the 1920’s was a momentous period for female empowerment, the Messika Gatsby jewellery collection is designed to strengthen confidence and allow you to convey yourself liberally with jewels that match your unique personality.
