An Introduction to Damiani Jewellery

As C W Sellors/Jura Watches becomes official UK stockists of Damiani jewellery, we thought it only right to introduce you to the fine jewellery House properly. Here’s everything you need to know about Damiani and their breathtaking Italian manufacture…

Where it all began…

Maison Damiani was founded in 1924 when master goldsmith Enrico Damiani opened up his very first workshop and store in the heart of Valenza Po, the world capital of fine jewellery. His creative skills, originality and prowess with rare gemstones quickly established the Damiani jewellery brand as a leader in the region. In 1934, Enrico’s son Damiano Damiani was born who would later join the company and take responsibility for its industrial and commercial expansion. Damiano also sought the research of design and technical innovation which in turn allowed Damiani to expand their stunning diamond and gemstone jewellery collections and gain notoriety all around the world.

In the early nineties, Damiani saw the entrance of its third generation in the company. This included Silvia Damiani who deals with the purchasing of pearls and the company’s communication and her brothers Giorgio and Guido. Giorgio deals with exports while Guido worked in Tel Aviv with diamond graders from the world’s biggest companies until 1994 before coming President of the Damiani jewellery brand. The company now employs over 200 people and is known as one of the most prestigious Made in Italy companies. They have also received as many as 18 Diamonds International Awards as well as two Tahitian Pearl Trophies, a Haute Couture Design Award and a Vogue Joyas.

The history of Damiani jewellery is that of an Italian family strongly tied to tradition and passion for goldsmith art. Our family has designed and produced precious and unique jewellery for three generations. From our early childhoods, we watched jewellery being created and the crafting of diamonds and precious stones, learning to love a profession and its secrets even before we started to work in the company.” – Guido Damiani

The Damiani Jewellery Collections

If you’re someone shopping for a special piece of diamond jewellery or gemstone jewellery, the Damiani collections have it all. One of our personal favourites is the Damiani Belle Epoque line which features a series of Art-Deco inspired pieces designed to embody the world of cinema. Through alternating baguette-cut diamonds and coloured gemstones like rubies, emeralds and sapphires, each necklace, ring, bracelet or earring recreates film strips. For an equally explosive array of gemstones, the Damiani Mimosa jewellery collection features unusual combination of different sized and cut diamonds that twist and coil around the body. Many of the heart-shaped necklaces and earrings in this line make perfect gifts for a romantic partner.

For women with a palette for sensual and sophisticated jewellery, we urge you to explore the Damiani Eden jewellery collection. As its name suggests, the line takes inspiration from the story of Adam & Eve bringing to life the motif of a snake in a range of 18ct gold rings, necklaces, bracelets and earrings. The snake wraps around your body in seductive shapes and adds even more luxury with additions of white diamonds and coloured gemstones. Finally, the Damiani Margherita jewellery collection celebrates a past design created by Enrico Damiani, a ring dedicated to Queen Margherita. The modern jewellery collection revives the flower symbol in a combination of diamonds, gold, amethyst and quartz for a colourful, royal finish.
