SevenFriday P1B/03 Japan Limited Edition Watch Review

From Space, to Speedo to Steamer, SevenFriday have designed some unmissable timepieces this past year and now dropping like the blossom this Spring is the brand new SevenFriday P1B/03 Japan Limited Edition watch. This gorgeous white ceramic timepiece embraces the beauty and culture of Japan, a country that shares many of its values with SevenFriday, particularly its fascination with forging loved traditions with new technologies.

The SevenFriday P1B/03 Japan Limited Edition watch does a stunning job of reflecting the energy and imagination of the island it tributes. It’s 45mm by 47.6mm case is crafted from both stainless steel and exquisite polished white ceramic inspired by the porcelain used in ancient tea ceremonies while the cherry wood animation ring makes reference to its release date during the famous Cherry Blossom Festival on 16th of March.

The dial of this SevenFriday P1B/03 Japan Limited Edition watch is breathtaking and showcases five layers of rhodium, opalin and translucent discs decorated by a striking wave design that reminds us of the patterns made in Japanese Zen gardens. Housed beneath specially hardened and antireflective mineral glass, the dial is also beautifully detailed with Japanese numerals rather than the traditional Arabic numbers we have seen on many of the other SevenFriday P Series watches.

Since the brand was founded, SevenFriday have shown a loyalty to Japan with their consistent use of Japanese movements. The SevenFriday P1B/03 Japan Limited Edition watch is no different and uses the Miyota 82S7 calibre which equips the timepiece with Superluminova filled hour and minute hands, a seconds disc with red seconds marker, a 25 hour disc with day and night decoration and a power reserve of 40 hours.

On the case back, this stunning limited edition piece continues to solidify its devotion to the country with a unique engraved decoration with the SevenFriday logo paired with the word ‘Japan’ written in vertical traditional script. The bold white leather strap pairs nicely with the white ceramic case and is detailed with a matching black wave pattern where the strap meets the case as well as the notorious SevenFriday ‘Seize the Day’ moto written in Japanese characters.

Limited to only 450 pieces, this SevenFriday P1B/03 Japan Limited Edition watch isn’t going to be easy to get your hands on. With only selected retailers offering this model and restricted numbers coming into the country, it is a highly sought-after piece.
