Garmin MARQ Golfer Smartwatch Unveiled!

The latest installment to the legendary Garmin MARQ collection has arrived: the Garmin MARQ Golfer smartwatch. Designed for amateur and professional golfers alike, this new multi-tool wearable brings to life a remarkable selection of apps and features to help you on the green. From its virtual caddie to tell you where to hit and where to aim to over 41,000 preloaded golf courses and a stunning green ceramic bezel custom etched with 18 hole markings, we’re not sure there’s a better equipped golfing smartwatch out there.

The Garmin MARQ Golfer watch has been designed in collaboration with brand ambassador Greg Norman, Australian professional golfer famed for winning 91 professional tournaments, including 20 PGA Tour tournaments and The Open Championships in 1986 and 1993. He also spent 331 weeks ranked top of the Official World Golf Rankings and was inducted in the World Golf Hall of Fame with the highest percentage of votes of any golfer to date. Now a successful entrepreneur, Greg has partnered up with Garmin to create a new generation golf smartwatch, and with his experience on the course and Garmin’s unbeatable technical prowess, we have high hopes for the new Garmin MARQ Golfer.

The Garmin MARQ smartwatches available before today already featured some useful golfing functionality including preloaded golfing activity profiles, access to full-colour CourseView maps for more than 41,000 golf courses around the world and a PlaysLike Distance feature. Nevertheless, the new Garmin MARQ Golfer watch takes things to a whole new level with features we have yet to see before in any Garmin golf smartwatch. For starters, the stunning green ceramic bezel is a first for the brand and features 18 custom-etched hole markings which lets you display your last round’s score so you can relive the excitement long after the 18th hole.

The high quality design continues throughout the 46mm case engineered from lightweight titanium and fitted with a scratch resistant sapphire crystal glass screen. The seamless tritone green jacquard-weave strap, which pairs perfectly with the green bezel, is inspired by the colours of the course and is made using traditional French techniques to reflect both Garmin’s and the wearer’s constant pursuit to perform the best. As standard to the MARQ collection, the Garmin MARQ Golfer is water resistant to 100 metres and has a battery life of up to 12 days in smartwatch mode, 28 hours in GPS mode, 48 hours in UltraTrac mode and 9 hours in GPS mode with music.

We have seen the Virtual Caddie feature on the Garmin MARQ Golfer smartwatch before in the Garmin Approach range but it remains one of Garmins’ greatest innovations for men of the green. The feature uses your shot data from previous rounds along with elevation, wind, and the layout of the hole to determine which club you should use and where you should aim on your next shot. It really is like having your very own caddie! The advanced game-tracking data also means the next time someone asks how you played, you can say more than just your final score.

For planning ahead, the Hazard View feature allows you to quickly scroll through each hazard on the map and get critical distance information so you know what to avoid while the Club Tracking function can be paired with the Approach CT10 club tracking sensors for more advanced tracking capabilities, including locations, distances and club type. The Garmin MARQ Golfer continues to impress with its Green View feature which gives you access to the green’s true shape from wherever you are standing on the course and it allows you to move the pin for greater accuracy. We also love the Go Green function with quick reference to the front, middle and back of the green so you can make the shot you want while the Pin Pointer feature will tell you the direction of the pin so you can make the most of each swing.

Alongside this long list of golfing features, the Garmin MARQ Golfer still comes equipped with all the MARQ technology as standard including wrist based heart rate monitor, stress score, Pulse Ox sensor, respiration and hydration tracking, ABC sensors, Multi-GNSS sensors, performance metrics, smart notifications, music apps, Garmin Pay contactless solution and the Power Manager feature.  So, if you’re going for glory, both on the green and in your everyday life, we can’t recommend the Garmin MARQ Golfer smartwatch enough. If you’d like to order your own, it is already available on the Jura Watches website here.
