Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Orange Diver Watch Review

If there’s a colour to rely on while exploring the dark depths of the ocean, it’s orange. With the new Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Orange Diver watch, legibility never needs to be questioned with its vivid orange centrepiece glowing effortlessly in the dark. Meet the French-Swiss watch manufacturers latest 250-piece limited edition release…

Since 2017, the Bell & Ross BR 03-92 watch collection has promised all the mandatory features of a professional diver’s instrument while allowing for a smaller 42 millimetre case size and date window compared to its larger and dateless BR 01 counterpart. Over the years, we’ve seen an overwhelming number of BR 03 editions including the iconic BR 03 Golden Heritage, a wonderful selection of bronzed case designs and the very recent Bell & Ross BR 03 94 Patrouille de France Limited Edition which presented for the first time in BR 03 history a bi-directional 60 second bezel designed in honour of the Patrouille de France, the oldest and most famous precision aerobatics demonstration unit in the world. Now, the luxury watch brand unveils yet another addition to the series with the Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Orange Diver watch.

Limited to 250 pieces, the Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Orange Diver watch is instantly recognisable for its round neon orange dial which sits centre stage within the square shaped case. Orange is a colour long associated with divers’ watches and this new release meets all the same requirements expected for easy legibility. The vivid tangerine backdrop is adorned with black coated hands and applied metal indexes generously covered in white Superluminova. The contrasting shades of orange, black and white couldn’t be more focused on readability with the date window also dressed in orange and the Bell & Ross logo and additional lettering in black.

The rest of the Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Orange Diver Limited Edition design reminds us of the many BR 03 variations before it as it retains the flagship square shaped case which comes in at 42 millimetres by 42 millimetres. The case is also classically engineered from stainless steel with brushed finishing and topped by a black adonised aluminium insert bezel. The unidirectional rotating bezel is then adorned with a white 60 minutes scale and a luminous triangle marker at 12 o’clock, a must-have for any diver – professional and amateur alike. The case continues to obey IS0 6425 diving standards with a screw down crown and screw down case back promising a water resistant rating of 300 metres.

Continuing the durable aesthetic, scratch resistant sapphire crystal glass protects the watch and extends its legibility further with anti-reflective coating applied to the surface. The Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Orange Diver also comes with two straps depending on the adventure you intend to take it on including one waterproof black rubber strap and one bright orange textile band. On delivery of the limited edition, you also get a tool in the box to change these straps over.

Last but certainly not least, the Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Orange Diver Limited Edition is powered by the Calibre BR-CAL.302 automatic winding movement based on the Sellita SW-300. Alongside the classic central hands for hours, minutes and seconds and subtle date window at 4 o’clock, the Swiss made movement promises a power reserve of 38 hours and a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour. The movement is kept hidden behind a closed case back and protected within a soft iron cage to safeguard it against magnetic fields.
