Skagen Watches Embark On New Adventures!

skagen 1Skagen watches draw inspiration from the Danish village itself – a place of beauty and serenity. Both the masculine and feminine collections are a confident compilation of timepieces that visually encourage a sense of clarity and stillness. Mirroring their familiar heritage where the North and the Baltic Sea meet, Skagen Watches evoke the tranquil interactions of the sea’s moving currents through minimalistic timepieces.

The contemporary designs incorporate natural environmental elements – the invigorating approach of the tide followed by the subtle ebbing away of the waves. Using a distinct streamlined style that captures fresh character infused with the soft and subtle tones of spring that are unmistakably inviting to the wrist, the brand strives to encompass modernistic aspects that deliver functionality and purpose whilst owing recognition to the impact that can be evoked by a stark face. Demonstrating a “design aware” approach to timekeeping ensures that each independent collection resonates with someone on one level or another, encouraging a scope of watch lovers to explore this innovative range with an open mind. This year the brand have focussed on the latest trends – wave link bands, mesh blue dials, rose gold finishes and brown leather straps however, they have also embarked on a new adventure – the collaboration with Eone who are always on the lookout for new ideas. The company believe that “Good design is not exclusive but inclusive”. The original Bradley watch of which Skagen have taken inspiration from, was designed for the visually impaired to be able to tell the time by touch alone. The new Skagen x Eone aims to continue to build on those strengths bringing the same clean-faced, sophisticated timepiece to a multitude of users by incorporating a beautiful minimalistic look, finished on Italian Vacchetta leather. The Vacchetta ages gracefully with time and is a staple of Danish design within leather furniture and the fashion industry – a perfect characteristic to add to a Skagen timepiece. The reinvention will be released this coming Thursday and just 50 pieces will be made. In other news, Skagen have completed a new collection of women’s watches designed to encourage a classic fresh-faced and comfortable wear. The watch is 38mm in diameter and sits flush with the skin thanks to the slimline anatomy of theskagen 2 timepiece. The clean white face, although evoking a relaxed clarity, has been finished with a rose gold trim and subtle crystals placed at the hour marks in between the 12, 3, 6 and 9 o’clock indices. The refined watch belongs to the Anita family meaning “Grace”, but also performs with a substantial level of functionality. The timepiece displays a set of beautifully proportioned chronograph dials at the 3, 6 and 9 o’clock locations, providing an accurate stopwatch facility, perfect for any lady who enjoys uniting current fashionable trends with the sporty look.

Defined by characteristics from their rural surroundings, Skagen watches manage to capture an affinity with nature – a beauty that is attainable on a universal platform, thus striking an instant connection with fashion enthusiasts from all over the globe. In January 2015 Skagen collaborated with designer Camilla Steak and model Helena Christensen to combine ideas and a passion for creativity to produce a new jewellery collection which will also launch this spring.
