New Graham Chronofighter Oversize Superlight Carbon: 2015 Basel Release!

Graham watches have been bringing remarkable technology to people’s wrists since 1673. The company, derivative of London Fleetstreet, take pride in their pure English heritage and to show off their latest advances in unprecedented watchmaking and high levels of ambition – the new Chronofighter Oversize Superlight Carbon wristwatch (product no.  2CCBK.B15A.K103K) has hit Baselworld with superb impact. The watch is the first Chronofighter made from Carbon-fibre that requires a total of four complex machinery processes to create the most lightweight yet highly resistant timepiece within the whole of Graham’s history.

2ccbk-galleryGraham has dedicated hours of time, research and experience to refine their skills for the launch of the new innovation and finally the results have rewarded these highly expert masters of time. The brand has pursued their watchmaking prowess by utilising the malleable, lightweight and durable properties of carbon to incorporate them into their re-shaped designs. Carbon is now a common material used within the car racing and aerospace industry due to its reliability and almost weightless quality. The new Chronofighter Oversize superlight Carbon watch does exactly what it says on the tin. The brand’s trademark is clearly stamped onto the timepiece by the positioning of the carbon trigger located on the “wrong side of the wrist”. The concept of this unusual design is to aid easy access during vigorous activity or whilst wearing gloves for example. This stop & start lever function comprises of carbon-fibre multi-layers (for extra strength) decorated with the renowned GRAHAM signature. The tachymeter scale indicates speed measurement along with the white indicator of the reversed minutes dial, used as a starting point for recording purposes. The featherweight carbon dial draws attention to the electrifying yellow second and chrono hands whilst also heightening the red hued minutes and seconds counter’s hand. The injection of vibrant colours partners well with the matching yellow rubber strap with “clous de Paris” black carbon buckle. The 47mm black carbon nanotube, speckled composite case, protects the in-house G1747 calibre and Incabloc shock absorber. With 48 hours of power reserve the watch is also equipped to withstand water depths of 100 metres. The unique detailing of the watch and clever construction of materials assist in bearing the brunt of an active wearer’s daily ventures, allowing evidence of pure, unaltered and skilful craftsmanship to coexist in perfect symmetry with a stunning and robust new piece of wristwear.
