New Bremont Boeing Ti-GMT Models: Basel 2015

BRE 1Over the last twelve months Bremont have continued to work closely with The Advanced Material Research Centre of Boeing at the University of Sheffield to produce two stunning new pieces to add to the already well established Boeing collection. Nick English has expressed the importance of such a unique partnership which will allow them to utilise the Boeing’s level of expertise to begin experimenting with their own materials: “When we talked to the AMRC we fell in love with that they were doing. They are about being as efficient as you can with manufacturing processes, and they’re spending a lot of time on the materials.” The alliance with the aerospace giant reintroduces a passion for UK manufacturing, something that Bremont has largely devoted their energies and time to.

BRE 2Bremont watches share most of their DNA with a strong connection to historical aerospace and aircraft backgrounds. Both the Boeing 1 and Boeing 247 models demonstrate an exquisite mixture of high precision timekeeping and an extensive experience in advanced material research. The first was made from a hardened stainless steel with superior strength, created through a double vacuum-melted, aged-hardened alloy. The aerospace industry has long used this material within their high-tech constructions. The second model, the 247’s were made from Ti-64 titanium for higher resistance and robustness to extreme conditions. The brand is delighted to announce an extension to the Boeing partnership who proudly acknowledges one hundred years in world leading research experience. Using further aviation-grade materials exclusive to the watch brand, Bremont launch the Boeing Model 1 Ti-GMT and the Boeing Model 247 Ti-GMT. Setting new standards for aviation timekeeping, both new timepieces will now consist of the Ti-64 Titanium case. Model 1 reflects the clear and crisp design of the very first aircraft designs within Boeing’s rich history of cutting edge manufacturing. Model 247 like its predecessors takes inspiration from the original twin-engine airliner from the 1930’s. This is the first time that Bremont will showcase the lightweight case material within their core range – a clear mark of recognition for the direction that the brand is taking in gradually working towards premium quality titanium within all of their timepieces regardless of a hierarchy of price. The aviation grade materials used within their Boeing models have never been used before by any other watch brand, making each Bremont masterpiece remarkably distinctive in its alluring persona.  Clarity within the subdials and Super-LumiNova® hands of both models create a beautiful contrast between the luxurious, velvety black backdrop of the Model 1 or the slate grey of the Model 247. Responding to the success of the previous GMT models, the brand have continued to build on fundamentally important qualities of an aviation wristwatch. A bold and striking GMT hand, adopted from the successful Tera Nova range offers clear and easy readability. The Boeing emblem sits at the top of the centre seconds hand on Model 1 and chronograph seconds on Model 247.  The new additions also signal the debuting of a ceramic anthracite bezel – the first Bremont models to ever have had this material incorporated into their bodywork. The anti-shock movement mounts, protecting the in-house calibres are both dressed in Boeing blue and can be marvelled at through their anti-reflecting sapphire crystal casebacks.

Working hard on refining their technical specification, the completion of the two new models celebrates the continued leadership and dedication in equal measures between the two successful companies.  Pre-orders for both beautiful Ti-GMT creations are taking place here.
