Dent & Co.’s New Dent Denison

Luxury watches
brand Dent & Co. has released a new watch named the Dent Denison. Dent & Co. is the same company that made the world-famous Big Ben clock and as such the firm has a long-standing reputation for classic British design.

Although it’s true that there has been a renewed trend recently for classic simplicity, both  in watches and more broadly , Dent & Co. points out that it is not just jumping on the trend bandwagon with its new Dent Denison.  A spokesperson for the brand said: “For Dent London the idea of form following function has been the foundation of the company’s ethos for almost 200 years”.

The Dent Denison watch is a three-handed piece, based on a vintage Dent & Co. watch design from as far back as the 1920s and 30s. The new luxury release is described as a “supremely elegant gentleman’s watch”. Only a limited number of Denisons will be available – a total of just 200 in all, with half being in 18-carat rose gold and half being in 18-carat white gold.

The cushion case holds a white watch face which has hand-applied Breguet numbers. Blued-steel teardrop hour and minute hands and a straight second hand complement the watch’s dial. The officer-style watch case opens out to reveal an engraved internal plate, decorated in the style of William Morris. The watch’s automatic movement, signalled by a semi-circular crystal, also shows off Dent & Co.’s first completely new movement in six decades.

Because each watch is handmade to order, it’s normally necessary to order six months in advance.
